Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hi Everybody, My name is Sam and my wife is Belinda. If anyone read Howard's & Linda's journal entry on Monday (Jan 28th), we are the couple he spoke about meeting here in Charlotte, NC. I have a 2005 Toyota Tundra TRD 4 door, V8 truck. We are looking at a towable Passport; dry weight 4850; hitch weight 540; length 29'. Our towing capacity is listed at 7700 lbs. I would love some feedback on whether this may be too much trailer for our truck. Thanks
I have been following some of the posts here in the RV Maintenance and Technical Tips Forum and came across the Electrical Page. Is it great. Are there other similar pages for other systems?
Generator turns on and runs like a TIMEX - however no electrical is being brought into the coach. Checked the breaker on the generator - it was ON Checked the 7.5 fuse - it looks brand new - which it is - generator only has 10 hours on it - 6 months old. Breaker seems a bit "sloppy" from on to off and...
I'm wondering if anyone else has ever experienced the smelly water problem we are having. We have a continuing problem with the sink in our bathroom and smelly water. About once a month the water coming from both faucets starts to smell like sulfer. After doing some internet search, I read that the sme...
Just got a nifty little shortwave (crank & solar powered +) It just has a "whip" antenna you pull out, no input for an external antenna. Looking on Google, most say to wrap a long (20-50 ft) wire around the antenna, then put it out the window up to a tree. But does anyone have any ideas ho...

Hello all,You may be wondering what is up with the subject line I chose. It is one of those situations where one dream must be realized before the second takes place. Forgive my vagueness on the first dream. It involves being diagnosed with an illness that hits you in the gut and puts a whole new pers...
Thursday evening I received a voice mail, it was an automated phone call from someone stating they were with the fraud depatment for my bank card, and please call them back. I did, the only identifying info they asked for was the phone number the message was left at. They stated that there had been multi...

CrankyApe listed my old camper for sale. They stated it had minor water damage. This camper was filled with sewer water and sludge, under water to above the frig. Nothing in it was salvageable. I have the photos. Shame on Cranky Ape. Right now there are a bunch of campers listed that were in the F...
I will be taking my full time job with me when we go on the road. I've tried several different blue tooth devices / headsets with my cell phone and I'm not finding a good solution and was wondering if anyone had suggestions. There are days when I'm on the phone or conf calls for 5-8 hours per day. And unf...
We had a very productive day at Best Buy (see my Wi-Fi Boost posting). I hate the bluetooth earpieces and was looking for an alternative now that California has a law that prohibits holding a cellphone up to your ear while driving. Motorola makes a bluetooth speaker that attaches to your visor, there a...
Hi Linda, I found a link on your website last night where you and Howard were interviewed...so we can hear your voices! It was recorded several years ago. I really enjoyed the questions and your answers.....(do wish the interviewer would have let you guys finish your thoughts before going on to the...
I don't mean to be too broad, we are at the stage of getting quotes from different dealerships. Is there a rule of thumb for getting a decent deal? I'm being told trade-ins get "80-85% back of the low NADA book value". Is $20,000 off the MSRP decent? Have we been fooled by web site prices which...
I love my horses and when we retire is it possible to take them along? Wandering if anyone does this and just lives out of a really nice truck camper? With all of the BLM to ride and other parks, it would be a shame to not have a horse....
For those that took an interest in "her" because of her spam messages, I took the liberty to do some searching today. As some of you know, Jo and I work for a state law enforcement agency here in Oklahoma. So, I got to work today, searching for more information about "Rebecca." ...
Like many of you on this forum I am doing research, research, research! I have also come to believe you are all the best of the best when it comes to experience and advice. I've recently started looking into battery chargers and came across a charger called WeatherTech® Battery Charger. Unlike ma...

I've been lurking for several months and decided it was time to publicly join this fantastic group! We are in the final phase of our full-time conversion plan. We are in our early/mid 50's (no way I'm going to admit to mid-50s prior to 55! :) so feel very fortunate that we can retire early. Hubby to...
I purchased a NEW NEXUS VIPER (most expensive) 30 ft. 3 sild motor home on 4-15-2012. On the trip back to Teaxs from the factory on the 2nd night one of our living room sildouts would not go out! When we got home to load the unit all worked fine. BUT NOW 8 MONTHS LATER AND ALL 8 TRIPS we have been on have ha...
