Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hey all; they do that here in Tennessee when their is an inch of snow that sticks on the road or a 1/4" of ice. I remember when I went to school in the 60's up in Northeastern NY State; we had to have at least 15" of snow to close the schools; but the ice was a different matter; us kids prayed for ice. LOL!

Mike, this is probably a good idea. We have had 12 inches of snow so far, and still coming down, and the plows can't keep up with keeping the roads clear. On the news today, I saw motorists in Toronto getting stuck and getting out to shovel and they were on a major highway, which is pretty dangerous. By closing the roads, it makes it easier to clear the roads without any obstacles or more important, less accidents. We are waiting for the snow to stop and then go out and try to clear it up. Can't wait, NOT.
The good news, it's supposed to be 50 degrees here on Monday.
Wow... that brings back memories... bad ones! We endured the northern winters in western NY for most of our lives but headed south for Florida in the mid-90's. Sitting in South Florida right now with the windows open in the rig and enjoying a balmy 72 degrees outside. Y'all be careful up there in the Frozen North!

I called Santa today and he said the reindeer had to turn back to home.. the wind shear and blinding snow has hindered their GPS navigation.......always something.....I tried Mike.....Stay Safe....If you are staying in the RV--Hope you have an escape hatch in the roof.

hey mike, don't your wheels role? i lived north of syracuse, ny for 43 years, 2' of snow was common nov thru april, i now live in pensacola! you have choices, evidently you must like the snow and cold otherwise you would (or should) be further south. mark
Hey Mark, that wind in P-Cola can be brutal this time of year. I lived in and around Ft Walton for years. One year we had one heck of a snow storm. Huge flakes fell for over thirty minutes. That mess stayed on the ground for all of 15 minutes. I thought we would never... Aww never mind.

I was trying to razz Mike with my posts as I normally do!!! I am originally from the Champlain Valley and lived in the town of Plattsburgh for 30 yrs.; give or take a few. Seen and shoveled all the snow I wanted and got out of Dodge!!! I would turn into a ice statue now as anything lower than 40 degrees gives me frost-bite!!!
Mike: good to hear you are safe and that snow will add some extra insulation to keep the wind out and the warmth in. Like I said before. Hope to see you in August when the snow melts up there.

yeah mark, it can get pretty brutal around here, when it's 45 degrees outside it chills you to the bone, i guess i'm just spoiled! as i tell my friends and family still in central ny, i can shovel sunshine alot easier than snow! mark
Mike,
We are still praying everything is well up there with you. We got lucky with only about 6" here in the Poconos.
Though I cannot agree with imprisoning people who are on the roads (not a big fan of big brother/ government) I do believe that if someone puts themselves intentionally into harms way that may cause our first responders to be harms way then they should be held accountable (i.e., payjng the costs to help them).
