Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Welcome Barb, good to have you, by 2020 these RV,s might be able to fly......who knows how many new developments will happen over the next 7-8 years....there are many lightweight units that can be pulled by the SantaFe if you want to get some time in before the big truck purchase....

Our names our Tim and Barb and are working on retirement in Aug 2020. WE know it is a long ways off but by then Tim will have 35 Canadian Military service and I will have 31 combine military and public service. If we can go faster without penalty then maybe but for right now that is the plan.
Our goal is to become fulltimers in Aug 2020 but inthe meantime try to find a RV to start with. We drive a Sante Fe so size is an issue so we are thinking of holding off for another year and buy a truck next and then either a 5wheel or travel trailer. I am leaning towards a 5th.
For now we live in South Western Ontario and are moving to the other side of the province this coming summer as my gov't job here is was part of the budget cuts but I was lucky enough to secure another govt job and Tim will follow me for the only time in his career...hehehe
So for the last couple of months I have been reading blogs and websites and signing up for magazines and even bought The Complete Idiots Guide to RVing. I am looking forward to chatting, learning, reading and hopefully joining a Rally and meeting everyone
Welcome, Barb. We started our count-down 13 years ago when I turned 40 and now we are 2 years away and I am graduating the last child from college in May. You will be there before you know it!!!
Welcome, Barb and Tim. While I'm not a Canadian native, as a military veteran, I would like to thank you both for your service to your country and its military.
Glad to have you as part of the "family" of those dreaming of RV'ing and those already doing so. Who knows what will happen as things go along that may change what we do.
To start with, I'd suggest going to your dealer for your Santa Fe and have them get you the weight capacities of that vehicle. With that information (towing weight AND Gross Combined Vehicular Weight), you will have an idea of what size of RV you can get to start out with for your beginning efforts.
Good luck with all your planning and research.
Terry
