Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We have been doing the typical line strung across 2 trees for a while and I even looked into some of the standalone units at camping world for hanging clothes. We also considered portable dryers but that doesnt fit our needs for capacity or storage. Neither really gets us excited. I saw this idea and I w...
My husband and I are highly considering becoming full-timers. My husband is still active duty Army and I am retired Air Force and we are currently stationed at Ft Meade, MD for the next few yrs. I just got a promotional email about this product: The Kimberly Stove.Click on the link, check it out, and let us know if you think it is a practical option for an RV.
I posted in the introductory forum but I'll give a quick run down here. I am a complete newb to the RV world. I work on the pipeline with my boyfriend and we have decided that instead of staying in hotels we would get an RV. This will be our full time house as none of us own houses or apartments. Price really is...
We have a new subdivision that we have developed for RV minded people. We build smaller homes with a huge RV garage 22x52 foot. one of the things i'll miss is my bathtub so am thinking of getting my fix at various camgrounds and rv parks along the way. however i'm a bit skeeved out by the thought of a bacterial laden public pool so wonder if there's anything to be done about it. carry bleach or vinegar and surrepticiously shock t...

I need TV for my trailer and I am thinking about getting the Tailgater from Dish, saw this $199 offer with free shipping on www.getthetailgater.com . Has anyone bought from them before?I've found it in other places way more expensive. Thanks
I don't need a dryer for my head hairs--both of them--but I do need some hot air occassionally to do other stuff. The most common need is to melt ice and frozen pipes. If I have time, I just let them thaw; but sometimes that can't happen. I found hot air guns with variable temp controls from 140 up to 1100....

So, our plans have been in action for the past 5 months. We've told the family about our "adventure on the road". Some family took it better than others, but they all seemed to come around eventually when they learned it was our life, not theirs to run. We have bought our truck and the 5th wh...
I feel a little silly asking this because on some level I should know the answer but don't. We are like "Lucky Mike" sitting here and enjoying the deep cold of the North East. My question is this; with temperatures in the single numbers is it okay to run the refrigerator in the RV or would doin...
I have been wanting to post this for about a week now and cannot seem to find the words. After my "life event" last year I have had a hard time on the road. I am still healing but doing very well. The bad news is......that beautiful Newmar that became my avatar has been sold. The good news is th...

Some of you may remember me. Quick recap. Lost my job nearly three years ago and bought a van and old travel trailer to live in until I got my esop check, where we would buy newer stuff and go full-time. That time is almost here. Between four and six months, we'll be hitting the road. After tons of rese...

I just wanted to verify that my understanding from an earlier related thread is correct. When we bought our New Horizons; I had them run a quick disconnect for a gas grill to the curb side.d Looking at my propane arrangement; I have two tanks with the associated switchover valve and a regulalator. From...

I made a decision on a washer that is definitely more work but works well for our needs. We ordered it through Walmart, it is a Twin-Tub Danby. It has a tub you put clothes in to wash then u switch then over to the spinner...then repeat. They come out of the spinner quite dry. Can't remember the name of the ta...

We are coming in off the road and will settle in Punta gorda FL. In changing our address from NM to FL, I was shocked to find out that my AARP supplemental medical insurance will cost $77 MORE per month than it cost in NM. We are going to look at other plans - other than AARP who I think has really lost sight o...

Got a 2013 Chevy 3500HD diesel/allison on a railcar headed this way. Scoping out misc accessories but appears a little to early for the aftermarket boys to have goodies on the shelf yet. Still deciding on a 5th wheel hitch but am leaning towards a Reese Pro Series 20,000# unit to haul my 3750FL, figure...
I am about to purchase an MCI detroit diesel bus conversion and need to tow my 2003 Toyota Tundra 4 wheel drive truck. I want to flat tow it. Any suggestions out there as to the best way to do this? Thanks.
