Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
My wife and I are retired but are still active as we are Gate Attendants for the Corp of Engineers at Navarro Mills Lake in Dawson,Texas. We have been Full Timers since April 2008. We are very interested with all the input that all of you has shared with the Forum. WE just might learn a thing or two.
I am having a tough time keeping my gray tank sensors reading correctly. The black tank has abuilt-in sprayer that I use each time I dump and the sensors are fine. But no such luck with the gray tank. I have used the level sensor cleaner a couple of times, and that works for about a month before the senso...
started out this morning at 9:12 out of campground (Buffalo,Idaho Island park) heading toward Mesa falls (hwy 47) to Grassy lake road. The First 45 minutes paved road, then gravel not bad but 3/4 to 1 inch gravel semi pack manage 20 mph for the first 3 miles, then turn it to more hard pack and a nice grave...
We bought a 2012 Mesa Ridge brand new. The paint on the exterior wall started to bubble and delaminate only 5 weeks after we brought it home. It spent the entire winter getting repaired and was returned back to us in Spring 2012. After a few months the paint started to bubble and delaminate AGAIN in July...
We only had to drive 40 miles to get to the river front RV Park we have been waiting for, We got here and no TV (I'm at odds with Dish, may have to rethink that). Plugged in and only had 30 amps. Whats up with that ? Good thing I had an adapter. 40 foot apartment on wheels and only 30 amps. Tide was out and our sp...
Hi, New to forum ... hoping you can help out. We have a E350 van we use for car camping. I have a Norcolod 1200LRIMSS 4 door refer. in my 2006 Holiday Rambler. I looked and searched on 3 fourms about the refer doing the selfdefrost , which it does quite well, but the liquid it creates has no place to go but to puddle in the bottom, when I travel it seeps out on the floor. On both of my other RVs the...
Hey everyone, So I stumbled across this site looking for tips on what to look for in starting out on what I call my "escape " / grand adventure. I've been doing some research and decisions as to what I need to look for but would love to get some ideas from people who live the "lifestyle&...
Ok gang, here's my next question... DW and I are probably within 2 months of buying our first-ever RV (if that) and it'll be a 5er. So, having never owned an RV and not knowing for sure what comes with a new rig (we are 95% sure it will be brand new), what items of importance do we need to get right away (whethe...
Our Dometic Fridge coils have iced up. There is a thick coat of frosty ice on the coils. To me the fridge seems to cooling, but my wife doesn't think so. We do not have a thermometer. The freezer and ice maker are working fine. Is this ok? Normal?
So....been stalking on this site for over a month now after I was lucky enough to find it after some random searches on the web. We long have talked about "cashing out" and hitting the road, but didn't think it was possible until reading about many of the stories out there. Thanks to evey...
Has anyone ever watched the show "Rock my RV"? Granted I wouldn’t do a lot of what they do to the Rv’s what they do… but its amazing what the capabilities and the creativity they do to them. I have read comments about the show and they went from: someone please rock my RV to we are a family of 4 fo...
We are looking at selling our home in April of 2014. Upkeep is getting to be a trial and taxes are horrible. We're planning on buying a pre-owned 5th wheel and living stationary in Texas for approx. 6 years before my husband retires. During that time, we will save up for a truck. I'm concerned about th...
In the past years since we first bought a Dish Satellite setup for the RV it has taken as much as 3 days to get the tripod, dish and cabling hooked up and a good signal to the receiver. On a good day it usually takes 30 minutes to get setup and a good signal. I'm proud to say on July 6th it took less than 1...
Possible "suspect" for buying our home! Folks called our realtor on Thursday night to request utility expenses and our disclosure. Called on Saturday for a tour, which was scheduled for yesterday at 4:00 p.m. Called this morning before 8 a.m. to schedule an appointment to meet persona...
Officially on our first week of FT, house should close any day now, last Sunday we drove away from the old house for the last time. So nice to know we never have to level on that driveway again. Saturday afternoon we ended up with a lot of last minute "stashing" of things until we could figur...
Hello RVer's, We have just ordered our first RV for full time living, a Cedar Creek 38FL. We've chosen this route because we are in a transitioning period in our lives. The youngest child has just finished college and moved to KS, the other's are spread between TN and OK and don't get to NC very often. We w...
Hi All, I just purchased my first RV! Wish I had done it years ago. Got set up in my home town area yesterday and had first glitch today... They hid the circuit breakers in the only cabinet door I hadn't opened! Called the man I bought it from for advice and he told me where they were! On with the show. I am full...
I checked the other threads, and it seems that many commercial parks have provisions for filling the propane tank on a motor home. We prefer staying at COE or state campgrounds, and so far I haven't found such service there. Since we're hoping for some workcamping gigs in such places we're wondering w...
Could anyone tell me if the a/c unit under the hood that blows thru the vents in the dash and the a/c unit on the roof is R13 or R34 Freon for that year. Or can you tell me where to look to find it as I cannot find the answer in th book or around the units themselves. I know this was close to the time they were switc...

Here at the campground, there are currently at least five full-time contractors that will be here until at least April of 2014 and at least four more rolling in by the end of the month. They leave before sunrise and get back well after dark. I was wondering when they get their laundry done..............
Ok, I have it in mind to be moving up to a 35-42foot toy hauler with a 13500/13700 rating loaded with all our things probably could go to a weight of 16000-18000 for pulling. I've read a lot of places that say a lot of things. I hear that my 2005 f350 drw 6.0L turbo diesel would do fine, then I hear it won't......
Every Fall Amazon will hire RVers to work in their warehouses sorting and organizing packages for the upcoming holiday season. Has anyone here ever done that and would you advise it?
Never done this and sensor says its full. Cant wash dishes till I figure this out. Im guessing the galley tank is just from the kitchen sink. Yes? The bathroom sink and shower, I am fairly sure, drain into the grey water tank. And of course, the obvious drain into the black. Now, what I DO know, is how...
