Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

New to the RV World

Hi All,

I just purchased my first RV! Wish I had done it years ago. Got set up in my home town area yesterday and had first glitch today...

They hid the circuit breakers in the only cabinet door I hadn't opened! Called the man I bought it from for advice and he told me where they were! biggrin

On with the show. I am full time though I haven't closed my business here in the St. Louis Area (actually several businesses). I will probably wait to travel until my

bobcat business slows for the year and then hit the road for warmer places... Texas, Florida, Arizona, maybe even California.

I really want to see the many sights our country offers. I never had any desire to go to other countries except some islands.smile

I would really appreciate any advice on places to visit, help finding low cost places to camp.

Oh yeah, my RV is a fifth wheel, a 33.5 foot 1998 Hitchhiker with three slides! I am so glad I got 3 slides, makes it seem big.

I am use to towing race car trailers and my bobcat gooseneck of course, and I installed my new (used) Husky Hitch yesterday.

Well I guess that is enough for now, I'm getting hungry!

Your lowest cost places to camp are often ones without hookups, so think about your options to make that easier. How much water can you safely carry and not be overweight? How much electricity, both 12 volt and 120 volt (generator or inverter, which means more battery) do you need for an overnight? How much electricity, water, propane and waste tank do you need for a longer stay, say a week? Answer these with what you have today, you can practice with hookups available but not being used. All without spending any money.
