Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Our Tazzy Kat has always loved to "attack" her reflection in a window, slider glass door, mirror, etc. It was hilarious in the S&B, but relatively infrequent. It seems since moving into the RV that seeing "another cat" in our mirrored closet doors, fireplace or windows w...
As I completed my last day at my corporate job, I realized that today was the first day of my Next Chapter. Contractors are working hard and FAST. All work might even be finished by next week and with any luck, we'll have the house listed by mid January. Dream's getting closer and closer...
Today me and my wife went to get our christmas tree and while we were looking at the man placing the 8 feet tree in the pick up truck we looked at each other and without saying a word we were thinking the same thing. Since 1983 we've been buying a natural tree for Christmas time and this one should be the...
I guess you can tell from the subject that I have news! A few weeks back, we bought a "new to us" truck and now - we bought a 5th Wheel! YAY! I am going to try to add pics - I signed up for photobucket just so I could share them! But, let me tell you about it first: it's a 2014 Landmark by Heartland...
I have noticed in a lot of RVs the shower is not seperated from the bedroom. For those of you who have this floorplan, How does that work out? My DW thinks she would prefer a seperated bathroom. I am withholding my preference until I hear a few experienced opinions...

I sometimes get the idea that some looking for a 4 season RV don't realize that it won't be like a home with a foundation but more like a mobile home on wheels without skirting, right? I think one of the biggest issues is probably windows since in an RV, you are right up next to them most of the time while in a...
Do It, Do It, Do It.... I had my harddrive crash on me . While thats ugly enough, no computer for 3 days, ((phone only) boy was it ruff)), I did lose some stuff, about the last week or so of documents and mess but most of my stuff survived. Something to think about as you scan photos, create documents to el...
I have tried to find the answer but I could not but that doesn't mean it isn't here either. There are times when I know where the information might be when someone has a question that is not being answered here but I am not sure of the rules on posting a link. I know in another website I go to, they don't allo...
I got thinking about "high end". Now, I understand the expectations of entry level since that is what we chose in our 1st new RV. That was basically price in my mind and knowing what I expected/could expect for the price, something that might last 5 years which made sense versus spending 4...
Lee and I are discussing him going to RV Tech school as a way to start the adventure so he can service our camper and perhaps pick up a few extra dollars as we travel. Anyone in the forum a certified RV tech?? Any thoughts on the return on investment for 10 weeks of school versus a possible lifetime on the...

Hi folks, I just joined this forum from the link on the RVing on a Budget Facebook page. My wife and I recently became interested in full-time RV'ing but can't do it now because I work overseas for the State Department. However, I'm 52 now and can retire in 8 years with a pension (including military), so w...
We are having a Winegard Traveler SK-SWM3 installed in our 5ver in a couple weeks. I am attempting to get two receivers (one a DVR) from Directv. First of all, I am having a difficult time even getting a live person to talk with. I have had three conversations and not one of them understands what I wan...
Hi everyone! We are getting excited. We have decided that even though the house hasn't sold yet, we will attempt to find a job down south for a couple months, preferably Jan & Feb as we have to be back in Iowa in early March. So my question; has anyone stayed at the Belton/Stillhouse COE Lake in Bel...
There was a gun battle in the resort area around Sandy Beach at Rocky Point (Puerto Penasco). 5 people were killed don't know if it was bad guys, police and/or citizens. Over 200 military and police were involved, including shots being fired from two helicopters. We have several RV friends in Arizon...
When it rains, it pours. Last week, the furnace failed. This week, the refrigerator has failed. Haven't determined yet if the cooling unit is the problem, we're trying to figure it out. But if that's the problem, I want to get the replacement part from a reliable source. Local RV dealer wants $99...
I like the title of this forum -- RV Dreams -- because at the moment buying and full-timing in an RV is just a dream for me and my wife. As we get more and more interested in it, we find how much there is to know. So....in the eight years or so until we will be able to full-time, we just continue to research and...
Any suggestions? It worked just fine in Mesa AZ, we had upgraded to WiFi Go back in July and have had absolutely no problems as we've traveled for the past 5 months. Last week we moved the RV from Mesa to Tucson AZ, couldn't get any of our devices to connect and could not get to the WiFi Control panel on our...
I've been stationary to long (2months) in east Texas. Will spend Christmas with grandkids then off I go. Getting a severe case of hitch itch. Where to go from here, west, to Arizona or southeast to Florida, or maybe a little further south in Texas? How's the weather been in those areas. Y'all let me know...
I just completed my latest update to our MH. We, like a lot of others, have the florescent light fixtures in the ceiling of our motor home and it feels like we are living in an office. Our lights would sometimes pulsate when some other electrical draw was on in the rig. Neither one of us liked it and wanted a...

Am I daydreaming??? With my Heart problems am I thinking Crazy; Or is it time to start planning for a change-over? I've been pondering over the idea of not having to spend another lower than 40 degree night. Maybe I'm Dreaming cause I use to live in the Arizona desert and in Feb. and March seen low 30's....
We are having a problem with our bedroom slide on our 2006 KZ Escalade. When the slide is closed, it is down about 1/4" on the outside. We took it into the local RV shop and they said the problem is that the bottom/floor of the side, on the outside, is soft and has a crack and therefore is not sup...
Good friends of ours have a travel trailer that they use for vacations. They have a leak, which has created an issue with their floors. At this time, they want to keep the travel trailer – but need to find the leak as well as replace the floors. They know they can take the travel trailer to a Camping World to...
As we are getting ourselves ready for full-timing, starting a consulting company has been a major task that's been a bit difficult to work through. I wanted to take a minute and share our steps for those who may need to do the same thing. First off I have worked for the same two companies for 21 years so c...
We are planning to full-time in spring/summer of 2014. We are making progress toward the dream! We have put a deposit on a 2014 Arctic Fox 32-5M 5th Wheel and it is ready for pick up. We have ordered a 2014 F350 DRW to pull the 5'er, and it should be in at the end of this month. Now we need to sell the house to hel...
So I parked my coach in a closed Grocery store Parking lot......made sure it was placed in a way so it would not impede traffic or coming and going in the lot. Well the weatherman called for 5" of snow last nite....not bad we could drive through that!!! The weatherman was wrong again.......16&q...
We just traded our new 2013 FR aviator (lived in for less than 90 days) for a Columbus 5th wheel! We are going to be stationary for another 11 months and decided we needed more room!!!
