Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I guess you can tell from the subject that I have news! A few weeks back, we bought a "new to us" truck and now - we bought a 5th Wheel! YAY!
I am going to try to add pics - I signed up for photobucket just so I could share them!
But, let me tell you about it first: it's a 2014 Landmark by Heartland Grand Canyon floorplan with Monte Carlo color scheme interior. It has Chocolate Landmark full body paint and so many bells and whistles (more than we EVER thought we would be able to get!) that I can't even list them all here. We set out looking at a front living room Cedar Creek, but Bill just wasn't feeling it at all, so I was trying to be open minded and look at the 2 he really liked. We were at this dealer in South Jersey for hours looking at them and the salesman, Eddie (who was awesome!) was with us, answering questions, then leaving us alone then coming back answering more questions, asking us questions, just doing his job without being an annoying salesman. Finally, he says to us that he has another unit, completely different than we are looking at, that he feels will address all our needs and concerns. So, he shows us the unit. As we are walking up to it he says not to panic, he knows that usually these would be out of our price range, but this one has special pricing b/c it has been on the lot for 90 days and they want it sold before they have to start paying for it. Someone else had bought it, left a deposit, came back 3 weeks later to pick it up with a truck that wasn't enough truck to pull it, so he had to sell the guy a different, less weighty, unit. After leaving for a breakfast break we came back with a number in mind and the number he had for us was LESS! We got it for 66% of the original MSRP. How awesome is that? I had read on this site and others that if you can get 30% off MSRP, you were making a good deal, so I feel like getting 34% off we got a GREAT deal! And, he was right, it addressed all our concerns and wants and needs.
I've activated the links to your Photobucket account. If that was the way you wanted to show the photos, when you use the "Direct Link" option under the "Links to share this photo" menu at Photobucket, then you need to insert the links following the instructions here under "Forum Tips" with the thread title of "Inserting Links into Forum Posts".
If you wanted the photo to be within the body of the comment on the forum, then you want to choose the "IMG" link option at the bottom of Photobucket's "Links to share this photo" menu. All you have to do on any of those options at Photobucket is just "left-click" on the option you want. Watch as you do it ad you should see a quick message in that link area saying, "Copied." Then all you have to do is "paste" that link into the body of the message where you want the photo. There is a small tutorial in the "Guidelines and Suggestions" category of the forums. The title of that tutorial is "Guidelines Regarding Embedding Photos into Forum Posts."

Very nice! We have a Landmark and love it!! Hope your experience with it is as great as ours has been. :)
PS If you haven't already, check out the Heartland forum. Heartland has a very active owners club, and we have had a lot of questions answered on the forum.

Yes a beauty, I love the colors since they are so tasteful and won't be dated looking by next season like some are these days. It has that "classic" look.
So, I am going to try once again to get the pics in the message so Terry doesn't have to keep helping me! Just to let you know, this is my 3rd attempt, hopefully 3X a charm!
What a beautiful rig!!! I know y'all are thrilled. The Heartland Owner's Forum is a very informative site. We are considering a Big Horn and have gotten alot of good info from it.

Life's too short - live it so you can say "remember when" not "I wish we had".
Congrats! That is beautiful! You are gonna love your residential fridge - we do!

Congratulations Bill & Kelly! It's a beautiful RV. We were at that same dealership about a monht ago and looked at that very same unit. It is a stunner! Good luck with it!
Congratulations! When we first started thinking about full-timing and what sort of coach we would need, we fell in love with a Bighorn. We bought our mpg as a "learner" with the idea that some day we would be trading it in on a used Bighorn. We were able to attend the Heartland Rally in Goshen the summer after we bought the mpg, and learned a lot. As others have said, join the Heartland Owners Forum. There is the general part, which has topics of general interest, and each "brand" in the Heartland family has an individual forum where the topics are more focused. Join the owners' club and get to know the other owners in your area.
Congrats on the new rig. We picked up our Landmark last month and couldn't be happier. We have the residential fridge too and you will really like it. Happy travels.
