Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Let me start by saying I am a dog lover and have been a pound puppy owner my entire life until 6 months ago when I found a home for Molly in preparation of us going on the road. So this topic is started with the full acknowledgment that dogs are an amazing addition to a life. Yet for us we have to decided to sta...
DH and I were wondering how many full timers make the decision because they have had an RV for a while? On the other hand, how many just come to the decision because they want the freedom to move on a whim, see the country, have freedom from "stuff" and live adventurously? We love tent Campin...

Our plans are to spend the winter in Florida on the Gulf side and travel during the summer months. We have been RV’ing (camping) since 2005 when we dec...
Leaving Elizabeth City, NC heading straight to Spokane, WA. starting July 5th. Pulling a 2007 Bighorn 3600RL fifth wheel with a 2004 Dodge (full tow package) 3500 w/cummins 5.9 diesel engine. Have 7 days to get to a wedding there. Looking to stay on interstates as much as possible, with the least amou...
After paying between $120 to $130 an hour for RV work, I have been thrilled to find through a fellow RVer a guy who used to work at an RV shop and now is out on his own. This guy not only has done a great job on all the installs he has done for me, but I have seen his work on my friends RV. He has done plumbing, elect...
We are researching full timing in an Airstream, so if anyone out there who is full timing in an Airstream, I would love to here from you! We are concerned about cold and hot climates, and would appreciate any tips and information about purchasing a used Airstream.
We're retiring next summer and going full time RVing. Have never owned a fifth wheel, so need lots of advice. We are in the market for a vehicle now and looking to buy a Ram 3500 dually. We won't buy a fifth wheel until next year. Our question is does it make any difference if we get a short box vs a long box....
Looking to pick up a system this week. I've gone through the treads but don't see a more recent ones for perhaps newer systems? Looking at Tire Tech, TST and another one (can't remember name right now). Any preference, or are they all about the same? Thanks!
I was talking to a motor home owner here in the park where we are currently camping and he said that he had a shop connect his air brakes from his Newmar MH to his Dodge Ram pickup. He says that he doesn't need an auxiliary brake controller because hsi air brakes apply the hydraulic brakes on his toad. Has...
We started purging stuff out of RV about 3 months ago when we were getting ready to get our solar panels installed and knowing we were adding batteries, we needed more room and weight capacity. Well, we've completed this round of purging and while we got rid of a lot of stuff we hadn't used since we've be...

Before I dislocated my hip on July 3rd, we filled our fresh water tank before hitting the road so that we could dry camp for a night or 2 en route to Mitch's brother's house. Gray and black were emptied. We arrived at this house, and due to my medical condition, have been living in the house with the RV in th...
We are looking at applying to Amazon in Nevada for next fall. Has anyone worked in the Nevada location and if so what camp grounds did they use and what were the conditions like. We are considering Nevada as it will be close to Quartzite where we want to winter.
Greetings, We intend to use DW's '07 CRV as our Toad; we'll be flat towing it. I have a few questions regarding the odometer. I'm sure that as long as the wheels are rolling the odometer will be incrementing. Since the engine and other systems won't be used during the period when the CRV is being towed...

We are trying to locate a mid-range price rv park around the areas of Sarasota to Cape Coral. We do not need to be close th the ocean, and don't mind going inland a bit. From what I read here, it looks like I need to get this in the books. Last winter scared everyone into heading south!

I'm debating whether to attend the Tuscon Escapade or the Phoenix Good Sam Rally. I am a member of both. My general feeling is that Good Sam will have better entertainment, a lot more people and rigs, and be more oriented towards selling me stuff. I believe Escapade would be more laid back and friend...
While traveling, I use wi-fi when available instead of purchasing my own internet service to save money. Yet, I am leary of checking my online bank accounts this way. I know my bank is secure and encrypted when I login, but is that safe to do so bouncing off a parks wireless internet? How do you han...
I have a question I have been meaning to ask for awhile and this is by no means a negative question but I wonder what the "stats" are on the lifestyle. I always think about it when old threads get resurrected and see many name I don't recognize. So my question is for those of you who have been he...
We picked up our 3009RESB3 Select Suites today and are excited about heading out this coming Thursday for our first trip in a Suites. It is in mint condition, used very little and garage kept. However when we got home we discovered the carpet by the bed and in the cellar right underneath were wet. Slide s...
For the travelers in the group.. the folks who are on a mission to see the sites, state by state etc... How far do you usually travel from your campground to the attraction before you pick up and move to another campgrounds.. Originally I was thinking a 50 mile radius "hops".. But may be lea...
I've recently purchased a teardrop camper and I remember at the Spring Rally (2014) someone was demonstrating a trailer trolly. I could really use that now. Do any of the Spring Rally attendees remember what the product was? Thank You!!
I decided to run a speed test this morning. Wow! Pretty good speed! Now, this was about 4:30 this morning! I'll have to check later this afternoon when there is more cell traffic.
