Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

We just booked our stay in Desert Hot Springs @ Sam's Family Spa. We intend to stay 6-8 weeks (we have family in the area) and they would only let us book 2 nights during which time they will check our credit and determine if we can stay they whole time. I am not worried, credit is good, but I'm my 35 years of ca...
What do you use to cover vent returns on the floor when they are not in use? We are not RVing yet but plan to RV with a cat and want to keep its fur out of the floor vents. Thanks. :)
Our house batteries are not being charged while driving. Is it alright to run the generator while driving to charge the house batteries. I have read it is alright to run it for A/C but we just need it to charge them while driving so we are not constantly running the generator when we land for the night, H...
We are planning on spending a couple months in Palm Springs beginning around mid-December. I was wondering how the current drought and water restrictions are affecting RVer's? And does anyone have any reccomendations on RV parks in the area?
Hey What are some of the things you use on a daily basis? Also, what are some things that you do not use on a daily basis but still consider essential to the RV lifestyle when traveling? I'm thinking fifth wheel here, but I am also curious about other types of rigs. Thanks.
On another thread, a sidebar conversation to which I was a participant brought up an interesting question... the CCC being set by the mfr, is that immutable? Can aftermarket mods change that number based on equipment installed? If installed at the factory two identical trailers with the only dif...
The RV Park we're at is having constant power outages in this heat. I was looking into solar kits, then I realized that I can just charge the batteries once the power is on again, and over night, so I really don't need solar, I need a large battery backup system. We don't own a battery for the trailer right n...
We’ve been full-timing for a while and so far, its always been with full hookups. I’d like to try out national parks without hookups. We have a 2009 Cameo fifth wheel equipped with the following: 2 Trojan 6V batteries in series, an Onan 5500 propane generator, an Intellipower 9200 converter by Progr...

A tornado touched down yesterday at a campground in Virginia and 3 people lost their lives. Severe weather is the only real thing that scares me about full timing. It will not hold us back, but it is my concern. I said a little prayer for the families that were affected by this. http://blogs.nbc12....
Next decision...which insurance carrier would be best for auto and RV insurance? Any complaints or good stories about the following? Allied, Blue Sky or National General? So many decisions...so little time!
I have it.........How many others have to live with this? I use the humidifier when I'm at home. When travelling I just take the CPAP without the humidifier and seems to get by. Mine is an old S-6 that requires 115v AC. When I have mine in the coach and plugged into shore power it works fine with no problems...
OK, so we're not introverts, we enjoy lots of social interaction, however, tonight we absolutely LOVED our privacy. For 8 weeks we've camped in locations with minimal privacy, state parks where sites were just as close as any commercial park and a hiking trail right behind the RV, a state park where...
Does anyone have any personal experience with this brand, walk-though, even ownership? I am seriously considering them for a custom build, as I love the idea of a Class 8 truck and its hardiness/maintainability over a standard Class A. I am also looking at a Entegra Anthem with the TV/fireplace behi...

I've read the previous posts re working on stained glass at studios in various campgrounds, but I'm wondering if any of you have been able to work out a system where you can take all your supplies with you in the rv and are able to work with your glass projects onsite. At home, I have a workshop room in the b...
Hey everyone. Ron and Kay here in Port Hadlock, WA…recently transplanted here from Durango, Colorado. I've personally toured many parts of the world to include Alaska and Europe, on a bicycle. Talk about downsizing. :) Joking aside, I did happen to own a home during those extended adventures so I...
We are Jim and Nanci, busily researching and planning to enter the exciting world of FT RVers!! We have been empty nesters for a few years, except for the world's youngest 16.5 year old mini schnauzer, Oscar. We downsized our home about eighteen months ago and decided in June (after three weeks of bl...

We are currently camped in a state park and for the second morning in a row at 0'dark thirty I was awakened with the sound of critters playing on the roof. Sheesh, what were they doing, playing ping pong or something???? Not the most pleasant way to be awakened and once the racket starts it wakes up Tazzy K...
This last Monday, we traded in the 2008 Ford F450 and bought a 2007 International 4400 MDT. It is a 2L Custom truck with all the goodies. It has a full air ride cab, rear suspension, front seats, and fifth wheel hitch. The hitch is adjustable from the cab. It has a leather interior, 22.5 tires, and the big D...
I've seen plenty of posts regarding solar with a statement something like "You can't run your A/C but you'll be able to us the microwave , hairdryer or TV".... I realize it would take a pretty big battery bank, but is it feasible (weight, cost, power, space...etc) to setup a solar syste...
Well, it has been a while since this subject has been discussed, so I wanted to revive it in hopes of receiving new, fresh information/opinions. I am so very happy to report that I heard from Chris at the factory today. He wrote to let me know that our new home will go into production next week. It won't be...
