Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
After seeing people's timeline s (great thread Cheryl) and seeing peoples experiences in real life it seems like once you decide to pull the trigger things either go really super fast or much slower. As we are falling in the slower category and I am trying to keep Lee's spirits up...anyone want to hel...
We will be heading to the LA area in late September to meet family there for about a week. While we have towed the 5th wheel all over Washington for years this is our first trip south. I am looking for route suggestions, I have heard over the years to avoid the Grapevine in and out of LA so I would like to find a...
Hi, everybody! I'm Michael, and I'm posting for my wife Aislinn as well. We live in San Francisco, and recently came back from living on the road for 15 months (we took a large loop around the States, with much zig-zagging). While we're not planning on full-timing again in the near future (in fact, w...
We are planning on getting a travel trailer as an interim, part time rig as an educational experience.Truth is we are so done with all the trappings of the big house and high maintenance yard that we really want to have an escape from it that will let us get a taste of what we are dreaming of a few years down t...
Hey folks. Have something of a general question. Did a search on Travel Prep and I was reading one of the forums and it seemed to deal mostly with travel times and distance traveled in a day (or couple days). And I certainly do like the concept of going about 150-250 miles in a day and staying a week or tw...
Hello, Is there somewhere, either on this website, or another that workampers can review other workers experiences with good, bad and maybe terrible past employers? I had found such a website a few years ago..now who knows where it is??!! LOL
I am trying to get a handle on various expenses that one might encounter as part of a solar install and future replacement of items. To that end, what has been your experience with AGM batteries WRT to the number of years before replacement. I know Lithium batteries are relatively new in the RV applic...
I don't have the model available at the moment (in a 2008 DRV Mobile Suites) but hopefully this is a generic question --- There are 2 modes to run it: LP and Auto. I assume when on Auto, it means the refrigerator decides whether it's running on gas or electric. Is there a way to determine exactly how it is...
We recently purchased a 1996 Fleetwood Tioga class c motorhome. We got the propane take filled, but it will not work. Nothing, not the burners or hot water or refrigerator. We thought maybe the solenoid was bad. It has been changed and still nothing. Any other advice? When we try to light the burners, n...
We are close to ordering a FOrd 350 to pull our 37' Coachman Brookstone 5th wheel and have received different opinions on whether we should get a 4 wheel drive or a 2 wheel drive. Can anyone offer suggestions?

Sometimes we wonder if it is good to be friends with RV solar people. We made some changes at AM Solar in Springfield, Oregon last week. Our AGM batteries were getting weak: So we replaced them with these: Even though we went from 440 amp-hours of AGM batteries (4 golf cart) to 400 amp-hours of Elite Po...

Hi everyone, Opened the fifth wheel today and noticed both shower door handles lying in the bottom of the shower. I also noticed the shower hose connection at the wall was cracked. I came across this on Facebook and it may be of interest to the Solos. starting out On less the 10K$'s dollars. Elio Motors.com is coming out with a micro-vehicle in 2015 and taking orders now. Has anyone bought/used one of those car analyzers they were advertising on TV, and if so, what are they called? I am almost ready to buy a tow vehicle, but with used truck prices these days, I want my 5 figure investment to be as solid as possible. Thanks! Jane
Hi all! My husband, Tom, and I have always had the dream of F/T RVing once we retired. Well we are finally retiring next June and making our dream a reality! The only thing we've decided so far is that we will be buying a fifth wheel and a Ram 3500 dually. But there are so many other things to consider. We've...
Well, as some of you probably already know, we sold our home in less than 72 hours. Not one photo had been taken, not to mention it never even hit the Multiple Listing Service (MLS). After a frantic 5 weeks, we closed less than 3 weeks ago. One down, one to go. We recently renovated the townhouse and co...
For those deciding on the type of refrigerator, called a “refer” by many, to put in your RV I thought this report might be helpful. This is not a report to try and generate arguments as to why or why not to put in a residential unit as opposed to an “RV fridge.”It is an attempt to give a report on our Dometic...
I'm thinking about getting an indoor grill. There are a lot of choices, & a wide variety of prices. Even the George Foreman grill has several different styles with different features. I'd like to cook burgers, steaks, panini, grilled veggies. I'd really appreciate comments on what indoor...
Greetings, We've been shopping for a MH for a few months. We're now getting offers on our properties and inching ever closer to an accepted contract so it's time to get serious about buying a MH for our full timing adventure. We live in Upstate NY and the unit I'm considering is in Texas. Can anyone re...
I'm looking to purchase a small travel trailer, approx. 18 to 22'. I will be living in this full time on a budget. I want to get the best mileage I can out of a tow vehicle so I am considering a 1/2 ton pickup or a van. I will need to work camp or boondock most of the year so I feel that a trailer is the best optio...
