Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Be aware that if you plan on changing your domicile to SoDak and you're married, your wife will need a copy of your marriage license to get a SoDak drivers license. I changed my Idaho CDL to SoDak in about 10 minutes but my wife's will take over 5 days if we are lucky. We have to get a certified copy of o...
I need to RV (travel trailer) to Virginia from Lake Havasu, Arizona and don't want to do it alone (although I will if I have to). I will most likely need to be there mid July so would like to take my time and perhaps leave mid June. Does anyone know of a website where people post their trips so I can hook up with...
Greetings,I have been an active member of another forum, the one with the halo around the icon of the brand, for 12 years now.Recently I ran into, what I consider to be arbitrary, heavy handed, and confusing moderation there. If the post agrees with the personal views of the moderator, it stands.I...
We are selling our 2013 Heartland Bighorn Silverado 36TB, with all contents included. We have found that we have no time to use the camper as the children have gotten older. It has been slept in less than 30 nights. It is a bunkhouse model that has 4 slides, an outdoor kitchen, and 1 1/2 baths and sleep...
When we hit the road, we will be going with DirecTV, mainly for the same reason that we have it now: Season Ticket for football and baseball. We aren't that worried about many other channels, since we don't watch a lot of tv otherwise; Dish may be a fine choice, but without our sports, we would be lost... ...
Even though it's a little over a month away I figured I would start researching our "loose" route for this summer. We plan to leave Oregon the first week of June and head up to Sand Point Idaho and then work our way through Wyoming, Montana and Utah before hitting Arizona again for the winter...
We are traveling to Fort Bragg on Sunday pulling a 27 ft. Rock wood Lite with a 2014 Ford F-150. Should we avoid California 20 and take the longer route 128? Coming from Lodi, CA area.
Previously posted (incorrectly) to the technology forum - many apologies!!Hello folks and thank you so much in advance for any advice you can offer! We've been full-timing for a little over a month now, in a Winnebago Sightseer. This is our very first RV experience and, so far, we'd only been stayin...
Our class A bathroom sink is clogged. My DH is getting ready to take the trap off and wondered if clearing the drain would be any different than doing it in house. We know not to use drain cleaners, but wondered if there's anything different before attempting to open it up. HELP!
My husband and I are planning to take our family on the road within the year. We are getting really close to the point of purchasing a used RV. We're planning to pay cash. We visited a dealer recently who casually said that we need to consider who and where we are purchasing the RV from so that we know we'll g...
My camper is sitting in the driveway, exactly as it has been for the past several weeks. Today for some reason the Safe-T-Alert co2/propane alarm is going off. Constantly! The first time I shut it off I got the green light on the CO side but it stayed red on the , now Gas side. After the first time both light...
So we've moved into the Fiver in a park outside of town, our house goes on the market next week - we are living in the Fiver while getting the house ready to sell. Although we don't actually hit the road until October - we are now 110% living in our Fiver - and having a ball! So thus - we are "part-timin...
hiya folks! We became full timers last month. Here we are in west Yellowstone, and we noticed that our 35' Winnebago is filthy, yet all of the rigs around us are clean and shiny! I found some articles from 2010, but what do you all do to keep your RVs so clean looking? Thanks in advance for your words of w...

My wife Melissa and I are ready to buy our first RV. We are considering a class C or class A but need more research and insight to make a decision. We're in our early 40's and have decided not to wait for retirement to live the life we want. We want to hit the road and be free from the rat race that has consu...
DW & I have begun to plan for our full timing lifestyle. We plan to begin around spring 2017. We would be just over & just under 41 years of age (7 months difference between us). We have only one child, and he is now 21 yrs old, and no grandchildren, hopefully for the foreseeable future. We know we w...
We are incredibly new to the RV way of life having just purchased our very first RV (class A), and setting sail on April 23rd, 2015! We started a blog for family and friends, so if anyone is interested in places/experiences in the Continental U.S., you are more than welcome to read along! I totally app...
In August of 2011 we made a decision to downsize, we were motivated by several factors including the fact that with all of our travel due to art shows we were leaving a house empty 25% of the time, but still paying the mortgage and all the bills and hiring someone to do the yard, etc. etc.Another big motiv...
Hello folks and thank you so much in advance for any advice you can offer! We've been full-timing for a little over a month now, in a Winnebago Sightseer. This is our very first RV experience and, so far, we'd only been staying at 50 Amp sites. Now we've checked into a new RV park and I thought I'd save us s...

I'm not sure if I'm posting this in correct place, but does anyone out there have extended warranty through Wholesale Warranties? I know that Howard and Linda recommend them, but wanted to know if any of you have them and if you've had any issues or concerns with them. We just got a quote for 7 years an...
We were having. A chat the other night about how people "run into each other" when they are traveling. Done a good job so far with our core group of friends we met at the R. Dreams rally last year but want to expand the circle as we start traveling out west. So how do you find people?? Is it RVil...
Hi All, We are just in the process of researching fifth wheels for our coming fulltiming adventure and have been looking at a Dynamax Trilogy. This unit seems to meet many of our requirements but is new to the market. Any info or advice about these or other units would be appreciated.. Thanks. Tim

Hi my husband and I (30 & 33) have been tossing around the idea of leaving the conventional life behind and living full time in an RV with our son who's 8. We have about a year to get our thoughts and a plan together. We have bounced back n forth between a travel trailer and a motorhome class c. We like the...
Hello to all from Huntsville, AL! DW & I are experienced RV'ers and have had the usual progression of tent->Popup->Travel Trailer->5th Wheel->Retirement 5th Wheel (Near Future) We currently own a Rockwood 8289WS 5er & I confess, I am a RV tinker--I can't seem to leave anyth...
Can we get South Dakota Residency and mailing address BEFORE we sell the house in California and go full time? When the husband retires at the end of the year we would like to be looking for an RV to buy and at the same time have the house for sale. We know we have to pay CA taxes on any income earned here, but...
I recently attend the Full-timer RV Rally hosted by Linda and Howard down in Sevierville, TN and loved it! We're not quite full-timers yet, but we're getting closer. I learned a tremendous amount and can't wait too apply some of the knowledge I gained. We're planning on retiring next May (2016) and ho...
We are camped outside of the Sacramento area with lots of farms, orchards, agriculture areas around us, RV is backed up to a lovely little pond (owners call it a lake, but really, trust me it's a pond). Went out to dinner last night with friends and came back to find our RV filled with 100's of little fly...
