Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I have a 1998 Jayco Eagle Lite that I purchased last year. Upon getting it ready for the first trip out this summer, I cannot get my Norcold refrigerator to turn on. NO lights come on when I push the ON/OFF button - NOTHING. I have tried it hooked up to electric, just propane and just battery...nothing. Al...
Just recently subscribed to this and I'm finding it less useful than I had hoped. We were primarily looking for yet one more "tool" to help us plan enroute stops when we're stopping for just one night and needing somewhere quick and easy to get to. However, it's a text directory without ma...
Six months ago today, Lee and I closed on our home and started on this adventure. Although we know we still have so much to learn, I wanted to take a moment and share my thoughts from what we have experienced so far. Your mileage may of course vary, but I hope it might speak to some of you. Please feel free...
We are headed to the Tetons this summer and want to know about campgrounds south of there that would be good to stay at. We do not want to stay in the park but maybe an hour south of there.
Hello! My name is Chez (28), from NY - 25 miles north of Manhattan. My husband Martin (38) and I are buying an RV this month and plan to boondock and test everything from outside the house we have been wasting our money on for about a month or until we have everything sorted and ready to park it somewhere.

We're going to visit Camping World in Kingston NY on Thursday since they have a pretty large inventory and we've seen a few on their site that interested us. So far we like the 2015 Winnebago Vista 36Y, new with 1309 miles, msrp on site says 148k and sale is 118k (http://www.campingworldofkingston.co...
Hi everyone . . . This question has probably been asked 1,000 times, but I need some help. I own a 2006 Honda Accord (in perfect condition) that I would like to flat tow. Honda says, no go, but I've read and heard of folks who tow it without any problems. Remco even indicates it can be towed without any modif...

A huge thank you to Howard and Linda. We went to our first, but hopefully not last, RV-Dreams rally in Sevierville, TN. Everyone should go, you will learn so much. We have been camping in our Airstream since 2001 and loving it and still we learned so much, especially little details that are so import...
Last night was our first experience in almost 2 years on the road of needing to call Coach Net. Service from Coach Net was good, calling at 4:30 on the Saturday before Easter limited our options on towing companies and RV parks that were open who could assure Coach Net they had a site for us to be towed to....
We are in the process of planning our travels toward the end of July through August. You see, my second cousin (who is 18) is flying from Spain to the U.S. for the very first time in his life to meet family. DH and I will be on the East Coast then, so we are having him fly direct from Madrid to Newark. The pro...
What small appliances do you use in your RV and why? Are there any that you have found were not useful that you had previously thought would be useful?
Hi, was wondering if anyone uses a dash cam and any opinions on types, models, quality of video, etc. We are more interested in good quality video (daytime most important; we don't drive much at night). Would like to be able to move between RV & Car. Considering how rough most roads are, did you d...
Hello: We are staying long-term at an RV resort that doesn't have cable internet available at our site. We signed up for the campground's wifi which is OK for most things and it is unlimited on up to 4 devices. It's not great for gaming and I get disconnected at times, especially on the weekends, but it se...

Hi Howard, I know we covered this at the RV Dreams Rally in Goshen but the wife and I have a difference in opinion in what we heard. :) I just had a Progressive Industries surge protector, Progressive HW50C 50 AMP Hardwire, installed in our new Bighorn. It was installed between the power cord reel and...
Until we go fulltime (I'm almost ready to retire----yippee!) we camp as much as we can, sometimes just Hubby and me but a lot of the time with the one child we still have at home (14 years old). I've spent some considerable time looking for someplace nice, someplace new, someplace not far away from home s...
Well here we are about to start the journey. After 3 yrs. sold the place, and got a T.T a Jayco 28rbds, certainly wasn't what we thought we'd end up with, But are thrilled to finally be starting all this. Thanks all for great past info. I'm sure I'll need more of the widom! ha
Well I'm done posting on RV Park Reviews - seems my posts are long enough and don't go enough into all of the amenities at the park, etc. These are overnight stops & all I'm looking for are easy in-out and decent power & water. But that isn't good enough and I had several rejected - but they won'...
We are finally going to be able to get an RV and live in full time. However we haven't told our families. I am worried about my Mother in law particually. We feel she may call child protected services. Because she doesn't think that it is good for a child to live that way. My daughter is 4 years old. Has anyon...
I thought I would bring up Homeschooling or for fulltimers, roadschooling and see what is working for everyone? We are using S.O.S. which is from Alpha and Omega and loving it. We have used it for 6 yrs now. It's computer based so there's not a lot of books to take up space. We do use Saxon Math and cd...
My wife, daughter and I are excited to be on the road hopefully by the start of summer. We currently live in NC and will be "road schooling" our 13 yr old starting this fall. My wife contacted the nc dept of education and was told we cannot be out of state more than 30 days or we will have to withd...
Our water heater is close to two slide outs. When it kicks on, we can smell propane in the trailer. Nothing TOO strong, but we can definitely smell it most of the time. Is this normal? I'm under the impression that it's fine, and we even bought a propane alarm for inside the trailer, but we wanted to get the...
First time this happened.......Anyone know why? When I filled my fresh water tank, the SPLENDIDE 2000 was filling with water the same time and it was turned OFF. I ran the washer through it's cycles to drain the water then shut it off. This was very strange and never did it before.
