Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We purchased a new Bounder 35K last January. Had a walk through that covered a million points in about 45 minutes. Because of some unforeseen medical happenings, we have yet to use the coach. The inverter thing appears to be rather complicated to me. One major question is, do I need to have it on whe...
We have a 2007 Sunnybrook 5th wheel. We would like to take the dinette out. There is storage underneath that you can access from the outside also.Does this mean there is a big hole under the dinette benches? We don't want to start tearing it apart & run into something. Any help & pictures would b...
Bought and paid for our Rv for full timing, have had 2 breakdowns during our shake down trips so far and we still want to do this...we bought a 2007 Allegro Bay Fred and have like many of you learned the break down frustrations, somehow camping in a Freight-liner repair facility is not exactly relaxing....
So excited! We signed all the papers on Saturday and took delivery yesterday of our Fifth Wheel. We are IN LOVE!!!!! Can't wait to go out for a weekend and start getting used to it! The countdown is on! October 1st can't get here soon enough! LOL House goes up for sale in two weeks - we bought a new Dul...
Finally hit the road to our full timing adventure. Sold the house, most of our stuff and bought the fifth wheel. Everything is different, nothing is the same and we're having the time of our lives. Headed to a 5 month camp hosting position in Mt. Hood, Oregon at Toll Bridge Campground. Then off to wherev...
The wife and I have decided to take the plunge (eventually) and go full-time in an RV. I am retiring in 4 years, and the plan was to take three years and go to all of the MLB ball parks in an RV. But the plans changed when the grandkids came along, and now we have decided that we will move closer to them, but we wi...
An online acquaintance on a firearms forum recently posted about his new fifth wheel. This one has a center bedroom with bunkhouse capability. Actually, the bottom bed is actually a pull-out from a couch and a single bunk bed is above it. Thus, the center bedroom can sleep 3.I've not looked at all t...
We have indicator lights that tell if the tank valves are open or closed. The gray tank light is lit, indicating that the valve is open, but we had pushed the button that closed the valve. To test, we ran water in the shower and no water came out of the tank until we opened the valve again. Anyone have this p...
I mentioned this in the General Travel section in the "Interstates from Hell" thread, but I thought I'd also put it up here, just in case anyone here is traveling through Oklahoma over the next month or so. That time period is relevant because of it being tornado season.Roadrunner RV park...
I'm very curious about the "Travel Bug" model 5th wheel by Americana. If you have one, I'd love to hear about it. I'm planning to go solo full-time within a year, so am now just beginning my research phase. Thanks for your input. Desmond PS - I don't have internet access very often, so my repl...
Hubby and I will be leaving for our full time adventure in October, 2015. So we are Literally just months away! Here is my problem....I will be working my full time job from the road. This requires me to have a desk for my computer and printer and be able to work comfortably. Our RV has a set of theater s...
Have any full time RVers set up domicile in South Carolina? If so, would you share steps necessary to make it happen? (We have reasons why this state is an option.)Thank you for your help!
Do any of you buy campground/RV parks directories or did they come with your discount memberships? I have a lot of phone apps but I think I'd like to have hard copies of directories too. Thanks to all....Stay safe and happy trails!
I wasn't going to do an introduction. I signed up last week. I went to post this comment on Howard & Linda's blog and it wouldn't let me for some reason. (too long maybe) So I decided to post an intro and post the note here. First the intro. We are Stacy & Michael. Husband & wife of six years. We h...
If you have plans to travel through or around Cincinnati, Ohio. I-275 west bridge connecting KY to IN and I-74 west is down to onr lane in each direction. Traffic back ups in the morning and evening can last for hours. Best time to cross bridge is midday or after 8:00 PM. We went north on I-275 to northern...
Does any of you use one that have "Big Rig Wheels"? http://www.mile-x.com/ame-67300-nut-buddy/ I have a "cheappy" one but it works great. I did back to back comparisons with an actual torque wrench only for 500ft lbs. and using the torque multiplier. The final calibrated va...
This morning I could not get the roof mounted antenna to stow. Error was that the AZ motor stalled. I manually got the antenna down so we could move on. My question is how do I get this fixed on the road. I got paper work from Winegaurd but is seems I need to send the unit back. Does anyone have experience with...
Hi, Try to make this short as possible. I have had a TT for a few years. We decided to go with a 5th wheel to hopefully do more traveling as retirement is getting closer. We bought a used 2004 Cardinal, getting ready to take it out for the first time this weekend. We can operate the blinds to day and to night. W...
Does anybody have a workable budget that they actually stick to? I downloaded Howard's XL sheet and have used it to track our expenses for the last two years. But all I really do is keep track of our expenses. I can tell what we've spent over the months and how much we spend for various things, but we don't u...
It's basically I imagine full of toilet paper, and waste. Short of a cleaning service to come out, how do we force the stuff down and out? I thought about closing the tank until the water was leaking out the overflow from the tank, then opening it. Repeating that a few times, with some http://www.amaz...
Hello New Friends! We are so glad to meet you and so happy to be here. We are Bo and Rachael and we are soon-to-be-full-timers. I still work but Bo is retired. We are avid mountain bikers and have determined that the mountain-biking mecca (LOL) of north Texas no longer feeds our fire. About three months a...
We are going full-time in our fifth wheel. We have narrowed down the insurance between American Adventure (which is associated with this fine website/blog) and Foremost which is associated with AARP. We had AARP/The Hartford in the past on autos and all was well. Premiums are comparable between...
Hope everyone is well and safe down in the area of Dallas/Ft. Worth. The news this morning showed quite a bit of damage from tornadoes that came through.
