Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Bay Area RV

So nearly five years ago we started our RV adventures and met many amazing people on this site... since landing on this site years ago, the Army has taken me and my family around the world. We have lived off and on in our coach and now the Army is giving me another short assignment to the Bay Area and we are thinking about going full time again, at least for about nine months. I will be attending the Jesuit School of Theology for an advanced degree in World Religions. Any insight would be helpful. Blessings, Chaplain Troy

How bout staying on a military base. There are many bases in the area and some have RV spaces.

Hard to tell from your post what kind of information you're looking for...could you narrow it down for us? Are you doing the short assignment for the Army in S.F. and then hitting the road FT? Or are you wanting a place to park the coach for 9 months in S.F.?

Good Morning NorCal Dan, I have a short tour in Berkeley for an advanced degree in world religions and looking for a place to park for nine months while there. Any ideas? The places I have found so far are either to far away or are in creepy neighborhoods. Any help would be awesome. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I'm no SF expert...but you might want to check out B.A.R.T. and see if you can find a park near a station. No fun driving around there, but the train is a great alternative.

That is a great idea! I believe the train in the city is the way to go. We will keep searching. Thanks again! - TAllan

That part of the SF Bay Area has very few options. We end up driveway camping at a friend's house and are lucky my cousin's live close by. You can check mobile home parks and see if they have spaces for RVs. I know there was one in Concord like that. Don't go to Vallejo, the city is bankrupt and you will also be paying bridge tolls.

I would try contacting the Novato RV park in Novato California. It is right on 101 so it would be a straight shot into the city. They also have a park in Larkspur. Good luck, enjoy the city.

Other that Trailer Villa in Redwood City, most are in Morgan Hill and further south.  Remember that the land prices in Mountain View/San Jose area are very high, so the rates are high.

Bill,

Thank you!! I couldn't find that in my searching. That's 25 minutes from my work HQ and it's perfect. :D
