Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Wannabe Looking for a Lot Of Advice

smile Hi, Everyone!

I have been looking at tiny house options and how to finance them on $900/mo minus half (the house payment). My 5 yo SUV is free and clear, so, at this point, it's my ticket to RVing. I can't live in my house because of a prowler. My roommate situation gives me no privacy. I've been looking at comments on RV parks and think I can handle the noise. I'm a veteran of cheap apartments with thin walls, but no public housing is going to let me keep the cats. My dog is my service dog but my health isn't good so I'm   behind on his training (he's 3). RVing sounds fun and within my budget! I can't drive much, but I could enjoy short drives between state and natl parks. Small spaces don't bother me; I mostly live in my bed. I have Medicare and Medicaid and Meals on Wheels. Anyone have experience with social services andRVing? Will they let you live in an RV?

simple answer.........if you are collecting SSD social security will deem you homeless on your case..........if your collecting SSI/D thru the state it will cause you again to be deemed homeless and having you jump thru hoops to prove you live within the state , if you travel you may not be gone more than 30 to 90 days from the physical address you call home or your benefits will cease.........medicaid is only good within the issuing state..........
