Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
After she spends a month stored, waiting for us to get rid of our "stuff" and totally retire!, we will be getting to know her for the month of June here in Nevada. Yes, learning about living in an RV in some heat, for sure. Then, we'll be heading north to the Seattle area where we'll spend a week or two in a sibling's lovely driveway. Then. onto Canada! All the way across taking our time (before winter hits) and then back into the northeastern part of the US...eventually to the Keys.
Anyway......if any of you have suggestions on the Canadian route....and more.....we'd appreciate your expertise!
As far as the NE, (I'm originally from NJ and most recently SE PA), I would suggest going no where near NYC, which is probably a no-brainer, but I needed to say it, just in case.
If you want/need to know about any specific places/routes - shoot me a PM - would be glad to help.
Best suggestion is to travel other highways than the trans Canada unless you're in hurry to change locations. After crossing into Canada from Seattle use highway 1 only from Vancouver area to Hope BC. then use highway 3 to princeton and through the okanagan valley. It's beauty in the summer.
Generally just use your gps or map to plot your course avoiding highway 1. It's a great road and there are good sights and towns along the way but will be more traffic and lineups than others.
If you are in the mountains in Alberta then I highly recommend the Columbia Parkway between Lake Louise and Jasper Alberta. Try the glacier bus ride and take something with you to fill with glacier water. We took large coke bottles. Fantastic glacier fresh!!!
