I used to hate trying to eat my lettuce before it turned to goo until I discovered sprouts.

A friend turned me on to them years before I tried it myself, but I bought some sprouting trays and 5lbs of alfalfa seed.

I place some seed in a layer on the bottom of a tray, wet it, and in 3-4 days the tray is packed solid with sprouts.

I have 3 trays but only use 2 - I find that after a few days the sprouts spooge so I try to eat a tray quick.

I make "cheese" with vinegar and instant milk, sprinkle it on the sprouts, add some dressing, great salad (never buy lettuce anymore) with my grilled ribeye and baked potato (bad dog!).

I've gone fancy with it adding some meat and rice and had a nice dinner when I'm too lazy to cook.

The 5lbs of seed lasts a long time - no refrigeration needed.

Live on a diet of canned food and you'll get scurvy (like one of my college roommates) but sprouts prove to be an excellent source of "live" food not found in the meat and potato diet I prefer.

I checked back a few years in the forum so don't jump on me.

Thanks for reading.
