Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
HELP Jack, Howard or others who know
I was showing my husband all the stuff that Howard purchased for his phone and he started searching and came up with Amplifier - Dual-Band Direct-Connect CM2000 https://www.primecellular.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&...
Hi Y'all
About 10 days ago, I stumbled onto the daily email, via one of the 5thwheel forums and I signed up....didn’t even know abut the forum web site until todays email and telling folks to introduce themselves. Sure glad I found your emails, as I do enjoy reading about your t...
I'm Steve and my wife is Karen. We currently live in Stafford, VA. We've followed the RV-Dreams site for quite awhile now and love hearing the experiences both of the Paynes and from fellow RVers. We've been RVing since 1991, first in a 19' foot trailer. Within a year...
Howard, this question is for you since you are at the HDT show. You know we have the same Cambridge as you guy's. I have said from day one this 5th wheel needed 3 axles, however it doesn't. Are you going to put the 17.5 wheels on your Cambridge. We haven't had any problems...
Hi,
We're thinking of redoing the interior seating and sure could use some recommendations on comfortable recliners. An internet search just confuses me more.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Fred
If you sometimes work or volunteer to support your fulltime lifestyle, have you found jobs through Workkampers that you've been happy with? What is (was) the length of your commitment? How did you come up with a formula for hours worked/campsite value?
Best Regards!
We have a 2003 Rockwood fifth wheel. It has one 13,000BTU A/C located in the living area. It is sooooo noisey! The kids have their bunks in the back near the unit. Their bunk room is seperated by a thin wall and a door, but for our youngest, who has to sleep on the top bunk, near that unit (above her bed on the r...
Hi
I'm Lloyd and my wife is Suzanne. We're looking (for the first time ever!) at RVing ... quite possibly full time.
I've been spending time researching what to buy .. yes, you heard right, we don't (yet!) own a rig, let alone something to tow it with! There are so many questions! and (sometimes) few...
I saw a RV Today show last week. A viewer sent in a tip about using those frozen cold packs in your refrig/freezer to keep the food cold while traveling.
We have always made sure that once we unplug, that the propane turns on, and the refrig. is running off the propane while we are traveling down the road...
After using a debit card for 35 years I lost it. It wasn't in the last business I used it. It wasn't in my wallet where it belongs. Not in my clothes, pockets, or places where I put receipts or in my checkbook. After a day I had to call and cancel. No str...
Well this wkend is the big International Albuquerque Balloon Fiestia and many here at our campground will be going. There will be 800 of them so far this yr and if you are in the area do see it as it will be an experience and not to mention the pics you will be taking!! We have friends who have balloons...
Hi, We've only been out for about 7 months now and I have checked the batteries twice, and have been surprised at the amount of water they've taken. Both times it's been over a half gallon combined, in 4 6 volt batteries. This seems like a lot to me, as we really don't seem to use them much as we are in full hoo...
I enjoyed reading Howard's journal this past week while he and Linda were at the HDT convention.
I have a nagging question. The HDTs seem to start out in the price range of $100,00. and up. Then a good, sound, sturdy built, all season 5er starts around $76,000. and goes up. So by this time you have spent...
I was up on the roof doing my quarterly...okay, semi-annual wash (where did all that dirt come from?) and got to wondering, how do you wash your RV on the road?
I see the Dry Wash system is a quick way to do an in between wash, but for the really heavy, after the rain (or, heaven forbid, snow) storm, what do...
Jerry and I are about to purchase a motorhome to fulltime. After reseaching we have decided to look for a 2003+ used diesel pusher. The brands that seem to have good service support are Newmar and Tiffin. Anyone out there want to give us some advise????
There seems to be mixed rev...
As we delve more into our goal of becoming full-time RVers in a couple of years, we think of more questions to ask. We will be selling our home and not returning to the community for at least a year and then only for major holidays or family events. So the question is: what do your full-timers do about denta...
When DH retires in Dec, the first place we will go is to The Woodlands, TX (close to Conroe). We will stay there for a spell to visit with our daughter and granddaughter and catch our breath. Any recommendations to a place that is good near The Woodlands? We own no RV Park books yet, bu...
We are looking for some advice. We have the dream to Fulltime in the near future. I'm on the 5year plan and DW is thinking more towards a 7 year plan. We have been looking at what we want in a Fulltime RV rig and really like the Montana 3400RL. I will have to purchase a new tow vehilce before we head out on our ad...
How long can a sewer hose be expected to last infull time use? Do you have a replacement schedule after so many years or do you wait until it starts to leak. Any particular brand you'd recommend?
Best Regards!
On Monday, we purchased a new Cardinal fifth wheel. When we finished our paper work, we were presented with four types of extended warranties. The prices seemed quite outragaeous, so we did not commit to any. We have not taken delivery yet.
Does anyone have any ideas as to whether there are warranti...
My hubby's parents just got a new motorhome and are really enjoying it. They have been taking some wonder trips. They are up in Canada right now.
I'd like to do a cross-stitch or needle point pillow for their motorhome for Christmas. I'd like to do one with a motorhome/RVing theme. I've been searchin...
I'm interested in learning more about Jayco 5th wheels. I have a brochure on the "Designer" that looks promising, but you know how the marketing department can make things look.
Does anyone know about the company and how they stand behind their products?

Has anyone adapted an UPS (uninteruptable power supply) unit as a sine wave inverter?
Last year I bought an inexpensive ($149) modified sine wave inverter (2KW run/4KW surge) from Harbor Freight Tools to run the microwave, coffee pot, and any other short term use appliances without havin...
Well another milestone in our lives - Tony and I both retired today!
We have been so excited anticipating this day that it almost feels like a let down - I guess we'll really realize it in a few days time when the alarm clock no longer dictates to us. Actually we thought it would be great to have an "...
My wife and I have recently purchased a 2007 NuWa 35CKQG Champagne. We have wood grain laminate floors in the kitchen and entryway areas. We were wondering what products people were using to maintain their laminate floors. We don't want to use anything that would harm the floors. Any help would be app...
