Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
It is National Pk App. Day here in N.M.at the Tetillia Peak Recreation area and so I just baked 6 cakes in my little RV oven. We are iinvited to a barbacue tomorrow here at the campground for anyone who wants to volunteer to help plant a few trees, pull some weeds, and spread some gravel to som...
Howard mentioned sanitizing fresh water hookups with a bleach/water solution in his post for 9/25, so I thought I'd throw this out there. I've seen it mentioned (RV.NET maybe), and seemingly confirmed elsewhere, that a bleach/water solution for sanitizing fresh water spigots before you h...
Hello,
We're Danny and Leslie from NW Florida. At present we're planning our retirement and will spend most of the year in our travel trailer doing a combination of volunteer work and just enjoying ourselves and about 4 months of the year in our house.
We enjoy most outdoor activities, such a...
Hey Linda:
I am insanely jealous of the pictures of you holding the hummer feeder with hummers on it! We have not been having good luck with our feeder lately. The last 2 places we stayed we only had one hummer visit and it never returned. Our current location, not even one visit. I've thoroughly clean...
I just got a Gooseberrypatch Halloween catalog. It has the cutest Christmas ornament for RVers. Go to www.gooseberrypatch.com then put in item no. X247,X256, or R389. These are so cute for Christmas. They aren't bad in price and would be great gifts for fellow RVers. There is also a RV cooking cookbo...
After five months of trying to sell our house on our own, we went with a realtor a week ago. In only six days and three showing, we have a contract. We close the 27th of Sept, so we have much to do.None the least of which we now can/must earnestly search for a fifth wheel and truck.
We are in the looking mode trying to decide the best unit we can afford as well as the layout we want. We have looked in many differant 5th wheels and have not found one that has everything on our list. Some things are easy to add, like generators, bigger fridge ect. My question is,are the manufacturers wi...

I read what Howard had written in his journal about the slide toppers flapping/rattling during rainy/windy storms.
I saw on RV today TV show this past week where a viewer had written in about a tip he had for slide toppers during snowy weather but I thought that maybe it could be adapted to rainy/wind...
Hello all.
My name is Julie and my husband is Casey. We are 47 and 50 and have been married for 27 years. We live in the Dallas area. I'm currently living my (our) fulltime dream through Howard and Linda's website. What a fantastic site. I am envious of all of you who are already fulltiming. Thanks to How...
Gordon and I started full timing in August of 2004. We spend five months in Ontario to keep our Ontario health benefits and one month elsewhere in Canada, this year we will spend about three weeks in Quebec visiting Quebec City and Montreal which isn't very far from our home base of Ottawa, Ontario. We a...
Okay Ladies, When hubby and I go out searching for our RV home, I step into the shower to make sure I can reach my hands up etc. But how in the world do you shave your legs??. Okay, granted I am a plus size woman but I can take a shower in my stick home and shave my legs without being a octopus why is it...
With all the stress a tow bar is under, how often do you inspect it? I look over the pins, cables, bolts and arms just about every time I stop. I also jump up and down on the unit when it is hooked up to my car to check the car base plate.
I replaced the main pin in the receiver this w...
This doesn't quite qualify for technology - so wasn't too sure where to post it.
Wondered if the fulltimers here had a preference on which BBQ grill to use. The one we have we can't make beer can chicken in...the lid is not tall enough. Any suggestions anyone?
After 5 sales today was our grand finale sale. All furniture gone! So we are getting more and more freedom away from that house as I sit in our fiver (in an empty lot) next to our house and look out the window at it after living there for 10 yrs....all who came to the sale LOVED the house, but dee...
While I don't know about the Mandalay or the Grand Junction, I do have some suggestions so you can start researching. The first would be RV Consumer Group. RV Consumer Group - we rate new motorhomes, used motor homes, new fifth wheels, used fifth wheels, trailers.

The annual Hershey RV show in Hershey, PA is coming up next month, Sept 13-17, 2006. Great place to compare RV models live instead of via brochures. Plus good seminars with Gary Bunzer, the RV Doctor and the Keivas.
Any one going?
Best Regards!
How long can you go without going to the dump station?
There is just 2 of us. We went for 6 days over the Labor Day weekend without dumping. Went to the bath house late at night for showers. One time we used the MH shower and it was a military shower. I didn'...
Hello all,
My DH and I will begin our RV adventure in thirty two months. We want to buy a DP (we think) LOL...
Our question is, if we travel seven months per year, would that timeframe require a rig that is rated for fulltiming? Are all DP's rated for fulltiming? We won't be traveling much in the wint...
Any recommendations or negatives about campgrounds in the Pagosa Springs Area. We are planning a family reunion next July and would like to avoid a loser.
Thanks,

Hello Linda,
Back on the 3rd the daily journal said that you where looking to replace your current love seat with 2 recliners and I am curious about why. You have only been on the road for a year has the current furniture worn that much all ready. Also, doesn’t the Cambridge already have two recliner...
I had two day/night shades that the strings broke on. Priced new shades, $150 a piece. That wasn't going to happen. Bought 100 feet of cord, downloaded a diagram from the Irv2.com forum and got to it. It was not hard at all, just a little time consuming.
The cause of the stri...
I saw a very interesting looking bird the other day and can't find anything on the net about it. Linda, I need help. It was "medium size" and was bright white with it's wings and tail trimmed in black. It had a bright red head which lead me to believe it may be a woodpecker but did not loo...
On today's post of the journal someone asked about the leveling system used. Someone suggested putting levels outside by the switches for the dollies. I don't know if they meant on the outside of the unit or not. I saw in a video for the Americana RV where they put the level on the inside of the door for the...
