Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Over the years, the " DW " spent a lot time doing cross word puzzles and in last couple of years got me involved and interested. A subscription to a weekly magazine provided several puzzles as well as a lot of gossip items.
Any way since I am now left with the task, I som...
Does anyone out there own a toyhauler appropriate for full-timing? We are trying to figure out a way to take our motorcycle with us and still stay committed to a fifth wheel which is our preference. So far we've not found a toyhauler that would have enough space when we full-time in a coupl...
Since I became hooked on Linda and Howard's web site, their daily journal and now the forum, I have started keeping Things to Do and Things to Remember Lists.
I always print out the pages that I want to re-read and study. Then I take 5x8 index cards and make notes and To Do Lists on them. I take these cards...

Hi all! I'm Mel and my wife's name is Barb. We're in our mid 50's and are planning on hitting the road within the next 3 years. We have a 30' 5th wheel that we got for practice. Neither one of us had ever towed anything so it's been an adventure. We've been learning a lot about our set up and what w...
Sept.11th,2006
May we never forget this date.
I have stayed 'glued' to the TV this morning watching all the memorial services honoring 9/11. As five years ago, I could not pull myself away from the TV. All the images that I saw that morning. I remember calling my husband at work and yelling in the ph...
Hi All
Here is the scenario: We have a 60 x 80 x 6" RV mattress and we want to put a 4" memory foam topper on it. The makes the measurements 60 x 80 x 10". Do the house sheet 60 x 80" (Queen) fit? Then with the foam topper would the sides and pockets be deep enough to keep the sheets tucked in?
I guess what I...
I write this from my motoor home. So, you say?
Well, the motor home is parked next to my house, which is still for sale. The shock is this, we have been planning to leave today or tomorrow. I arranged for the cable modem and cable service to be cut. Today (this morning), it went away.
Talk about a cu...
When my Mother was put on oxygen, we had her appliances in the kitchen (of her stick home) removed and replaced with electric because the company told her not to get around any gas. OK, my question since we plan to have her join us on some trips is this MH – Do we need to have electric cooktop in kitche...
Here's another topic where noone should reply with "I've got a great hiding place--I put it right here..."
Around your stick house you have countless hiding places and several neighbors that can be used to hide a spare key. Whether full timing or going for the weekend, it generally is...
We are Jon and Barbara Mattix and we are getting ready to full time as soon as our house sells. In the meantime we are looking at 5th wheels and motorhomes. Does anyone have a Rear Kitchen in a 5th wheel and how do you like it? The Rear Kitchen seems to have more space, but looks like more weight behind the whe...
I have a 29' Prowler TT and carry liability insurance through my regular vehicle insurer, GEICO. I have found that it is liability and not that comprehesive. I am only a weekender, but I am thinking I may need a more comprehensive policy, for example one that would cover damage from a tire blowout. Anyo...
Has anyone looked at them? Any comments? We have seen them and liked what we saw but just are wondering if anyone has comments...negitive or positive either way..there are so many choices we are exploring all options
Has anyone used these pans? I need some new ones and thought they were lighter so I should consider buying them. I have heard not to buy cheap immitations, immitations of what? I don't know the brands. Since I have had colon cancer I am very sinsitive to chemicals, any...
I've been reading the RV Dreams Journal for a long time now and was excited this afternoon when I discovered that they have a Forum! Okay, so maybe I wasn't reading the fine print!
I'm a wannabe. In fact, I have decided that in 5 years I'm going to retire (one of the benefits of being...
I just had to pass this on. When we were out west about 4 years ago, we bought firewood and collected wood from campsites that had been left. We stored this in our camper and used it on each of our camping trips.
Well, there was about 2 pieces of, I guess Western Cedar, that we had gotten from the Gra...
Ok, so Friday Terri and I went to Albuquerque to visit dealerhips.
We looked at Cedar Creek products and loved them, but doubt they can sell within our budget. We also looked at Grand Junctions, for the second time. We do like them and the floor plan, but we know they have only been made for two ye...
Do you carry a stash of cash on the road for just in case emergencies? How much would be recommended and what denominations?
I carry a coffe cup that all the quarters from my spare change goes in for laundry, but suppose you need some cash somewhere that plastic won't work?
Any good tip...
We have planned to spend the summer of 2007 travelling Alaska. Is there anyone else on this Forum that will be joining us up there - it would be great to hook up with and getting to know forum buddies who have the same purpose.......enjoying the awesome beauty of this amazing State!
This may be old news or no news for some of you out there.
When I retired 25 yrs ago from a major corporation, we were given two "Paid UP" life insurance policies from a notibale Life Insurance Company. One was about 5 times more than the other.

I am purchasing a new 2007 Teton Cheyenne - anyone else own Teton's?
Would like information about likes-dislikes, any problems they have encountered.
Thanks!
Just wondering if any of you have visited Vallecito Resort, Durango, Colorado. We were there a couple years ago and would love to "workcamp" there. Any suggestions???
We have had our fifth wheel for 4 years. To this day, we still worry about backing into a campsite. I always try to get a pull-thru site.
My husband and I have really gotten into some arguments over this, which can really make a terrible beginning to a camping trip.
I have tried to tell him which...

Hi all,
Need to visit New Orleans in a week or 2 and need some one to tell about the campgrounds that are operating at this time.
I know about the new high-dollar one ($62+) and would prefer one that is a little less.
Thanks in advance
