Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Anyone out there own a Bighorn? We ordered one yesterday (3670 model) and since have been finding multiple problems from owners regarding all sorts of issues....more than the average apparently. We have 36 hours left if we want to cancel the whole thing so we are gathering input. Any thoughts, ob...
As I get closer to fulltiming, I have been looking around the area where I live (Shreveport, LA) at land and smaller houses. I am trying to decide on buying a small plot of land where I can construct a parking space for my RV when I am back in the area. My daughters, son and grandchildren all live here and I kn...
We live along the Alabama Gulf Coast. Our fifth wheel stays parked in a parking lot of my husband's warehouse.
We have tried to fit it in the warehouse, but the garage door is not tall enough, so it has to stay out. I am looking for suggestions for our fifth wheel, to help make it through ano...

We will be fulltiming in a few short weeks. We will be fulltiming, but not traveling much. We will need to hook up and extend-a-stay hose for our propane. Would love advice, recommendations etc. on how to do this, any comments appreciated. Thanks.
Hello Listmembers,As a new member, this is my first posting and I feel it's fitting to tell you a bit about us, what stage we are in working towards our goal of fulltiming, and the timeline of how we got here. Norman & I (Monika) are planning to go fulltime in early 2008.We decided about 7 or 8 years a...
We have had our rig for almost 2 years, we have maintained the tires as per the manufacturer spec's and have maybe less than 10K miles on them. We have blown out 3 of the 6 Karrier tires on our 5th Wheel. All 3 tires were blown out on the interstate while going the legal speed limit, with the trailer not b...
These abbreviations are often found on RV forums and websites. So if you get confused about any of the abbreviations used by posters on this Forum, come here to find out what folks are talking about. I'm sure we'll use this list often. This list is courtesy of Norm & Linda Payne's See Ya Down The R...

Folks, Mr. Fred brought up a great topic about the first fifth wheel trailer and I almost posted under his topic but I didn't want him to think I was highjacking his post. Sooooo what I would like to see is any pictures of any old campers, especially fifth wheels. I love looking at the old ones and how the...
(We won't mention The Indiana Pacers)
Hi all,
We are Ken and Barb Pace from Indianapolis, IN and are Full Time Wannabys. In the past we had a Class C Winnebago Warrier used for weekend trips and the Winnebago club which we really enjoyed. We had to give it up for several years while we cared for Barb...

As one who has never RV'd before Kathy & I (Bob) will have quite a few questions. About 10 years ago we, decided full time RVing would be a great retirement plan. We have followed RV Dreams almost from the start and really identify with H & L. Anyway planning began in ernest 3-4 years ago and a 5t...
Some of you may have noticed the new Whiteboard feature in your Profile. I didn't know what it was or how to use it, so today I asked. The Whiteboard is another way for Forum members to communicate privately. Want to post a note for someone? Just find them on the User List, click on their name in a forum...
Does anyone know what company first introduced fifth wheel trailers, and when? I know that regular trailers go back to the 30's, but can't seem to find any info on fivers. We did see at the Glen Curtis museum in NY that he is credited with the invention of the fifth wheel hitch in the 20's, b...
LOL, Howard, I ask for this category and it's here, but, sheesh! so many others! Too complicated for me. OK, here's my question: Howard, are you a very regimented guy? Here you are trying to get us to conform to which box we stand in. Luv ya, Howard, that's just my 2 cents. Nevertheless...
I'd like to know if anyone has installed the Henderson Super Steer Rear Trac Bar on a Chevy P-30 or P-32 chassis and did it help to control the Steering from the tail wagging the dog axle shifting. Thanks, Gummy

I have a question about getting repair work done while fulltiming. I understand that 5th wheels (what I have...see Canadian Newbie under "Introduce Yourself) require more maintance than a stick house and while I hope to handle a lot of them myself, there are some things like hydraulic brakes,...

We have always had a large freezer and when I saw that Cardinal has 2 refridgerators side by side, I was interested in them. Does anyone have this and can one be turned into a freezer? It would be nice to have more freezer space than in the regular RV fridg. I don't like going grocery shopping now and I am...
