Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Just to say Hello !!

Hello Listmembers,As a new member, this is my first posting and I feel it's fitting to tell you a bit about us, what stage we are in working towards our goal of fulltiming, and the timeline of how we got here.  Norman & I (Monika) are planning to go fulltime in early 2008.We decided about 7 or 8 years ago that we wanted to spend our retirement travelling across North America.  Our 2 sons are gown and have left us as empty nesters many years ago.We began our planning in earnest about 5 years ago by attending all the RV shows in our area and narrowed our choice down to several Class A motorhomes.Twelve months ago, the plan kicked into high gear as we prepared to divest ourselves of 37 years of homeownership and collecting "stuff".The first step was to put our house on the market. This involved going through each room, closet and shelf and systematically sorting everything to either store, take with us, or sell. Then came staging the house for the real estate market. Boy, was that an eye-opener! I packed up everything for storage, most of what will travel with us, and reduced the house to the barest minimum. "De-clutter" and "de-personalize" are the latest buzz words in that industry! So began the packing, the house-staging, conducting several Yard and Contents sales, tireless hours of maintaining classified ads on several local (free) websites and finally, calling a local liquidator to take the remainder. We have now sold the house, placed the order for a 2008 Winnebago 38J and moved into a temporary rental house. We are looking forward to enjoying this summer living next to a large park where we can romp with our 3 Jack Russell Terriers and wait for our MH to be delivered in October.  Then it will be off to visit our son and grandchildren on Vancouver Island in British Columbia for a few months before we head onto the open road.  We wish you all safe journeys and look forward to meeting some of you along the way.

With your attitude you will do great. Vancouver Island is wonderful, we have visited without an RV many times. In fact our honeymoon was in Victoria.
