Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Hello Howard, Linda and All!!! A few months ago Phil and I were in what we thought of as year 17.5 of a 20 year plan ...working real jobs and tap dancing as fast was we could. Then the wheels changed direction as the road turned. I met Tioga George and his crew http://www.vagabonders-supreme.net/ a...
Hello everyone. Connie and I are not FT and don't really have the urge right now. We do MH quite a bit and just returned from Florida for the winter. Okay, its nice to get on the road young, but we all need an exit plan. Social Security benefits may be part of that plan for many of us and are based on your working life years. When you cut out 10-15 years before you're able to collect SS benefits, how much can this reduce your SS income? Is there way to e...
Hello All - not sure where to post this question, since it doesn't really fall into any category, but I need some input. We are planning on going fulltime in the next 2 to 3 years. We will be in our 40's at the time and like H&L, we will be ok for awhile, but would like to generate some supplemental inc...

The condo sold last night - Hooray!!!! Actually had a couple within the complex interested before we even called a realtor. No realtor fees, no new paint, no new carpet, etc. They have their own ideas in mind, so its cool. Now what? Gotta be out by June 1st, but oh yeh, we don't have an RV yet. SHOPPI...

I am 56 years old, divorced, and considering retiring from my job as a teacher and workkamping full time. I would like to wait until 60 to begin drawing from my retirement and social security, so I am trying to decide if I can pay for the lifestyle by workkamping alone. I can sell the house and pay for the RV...
We are still wanabees and as such we have lots of questions. Howard's most recent journal entry mentioned preparing for severe weather by being ready to pull in the slideouts. What, if anything, else can be done? Foxriverguy George & Sandy Stoltz On the road in 09/09
Has anyone had the Banks system installed on their tow vehicle? We have a 2003 Ford F-550 and are considering it. We tow a 40ft 5th wheel toyhauler and need the extra boost. Thanks, Postal Pair
We are Judy and Steve (two separate people, one wonderful pairing). We have lived in Alaska since '77. I know a lot of people on this forum are wondering why we would want to leave such a beautiful state. Well, that is just the thing. When you live up here, it is hard to travel out. It takes 5-7 days to driv...
We have a different type of question. Next month we are going to take my sister to Texas for 2 weeks. My sister had the same type of cancer as J. Edwards wife and has surpassed the 5 years. Needless to say when it reaches a certain point there is pain and she isn't moving or sitting like she would like...
Howard, Could you explain how you accomplished the many unique cabinetry modifications that you prominently show under 'our home'? They look very professionally done! Your descriptions infer you did them yourself. Great work! But if so, why does your startup financial page refer to Cabinet &...
This is a big day for us. We have purchased a ’95 36RKSO Travel Supreme fifth wheel, with a 2000 Ford F350 dually, diesel, crewcab with only 29k on the truck. After 15 years without a camper this is our entry back into it, culminating in going full time 9/1/10, if the Good Lord is willing and the creek don’t...

What type of household cleaners do you use in your RV? What have you found that works best on the toilet, shower etc? I have found the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers work great on the sink and shower floor. And have been using a multi surface cleaner for the rest. What does everyone else use? Thanks for shari...
Is there a driver of a MDT in Ohio (preferrable in NE Ohio) or within a reasonable driving distance, that would like to share his/her experiences with a wannabe? I would love to see your MDT! I read everything I can find about MDT's but have never seen one up live and in person. It just seems like the "...
I have looked at many fulltimer's budgets, one line item that I don't see is money to cover costs of entertainment; park fees, museum admissions, tickets for movies or even tram rides and canoe trips with Linda and Howard. What do you set aside for those great things you see and do as part of your FT livi...
