Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Got a picture?

Folks,

Mr. Fred brought up a great topic about the first fifth wheel trailer and I almost posted under his topic but I didn't want him to think I was highjacking his post.  Sooooo what I would like to see is any pictures of any old campers, especially fifth wheels.  I love looking at the old ones and how they have changed so if you have one that you would like to share please post.   Any 10 years or older would be of interest to me!!

Thanks,
Billy

It's not a 5th wheel, but it's an "oldie".  This was our first RV, a 13' Wilderness Travel Trailer we bought used in 1976.  That's the DW and our son in the picture.  He's now 36 years old and has a 5 year old of his own!

It was tiny, but we had fun with it for a couple of years.

Hey Howard, I finally figured out how to post the picture!!

Here's another "oldie" from a 1982 trip to the Black Hills and Yellowstone.  We sold the little Wilderness trailer and rented this popup for the trip.

Mr. Bill & Mrs. Linda,
Hey thanks for the pictures.  When we bought our first non tent camper it was about the size of your first hard camper.  I'm sure you have seen them it was called a Scamp.  Small fiberglass trailer that we pulled behind the car.  We loved that little camper but at 6' 3'' tall I had trouble finding a place to put my feet when I was sleeping!!aww  I finally solved that problem though when I bought this 40 footer!!  Thanks again for the pictures.

Billy,

Sort of the same problem I had with the Wilderness.  It had a dinette in the rear that made into our bed and a swing down bunk above that could accommodate one small child.  In the front was the kitchen sink and counter and on the street side there was a fairly large closet that we also kept a porta potty in.  It was fun, but we soon realized we would run out of room as our son grew!

A few years later we bought our first Class C motorhome, followed by a 2nd larger Class C and then 2 years ago a 36' Class A.  Now we want to switch gears and go with a 5th wheel.
