Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We are in the process of selling all that we own, and wanting to get on the rode full time and have been looking at all of the 5th wheel trailers. I am about to go nuts, but it seems that there are a few homes that have risen to the top, the cream of the crop as to speak. To mention a few, Carrage, Teton, Landmar...
After reading a few blogs including RV dreams and reconsidering our own experience we are going to revise our annual maintenance budget. It seems that maintenance costs for the RV match or even exceed what the stick house maintenance costs. We have spent somewhere between $1200 and $1400 per year...
Our home in Tellico Village is for sale, as we plan to RV full-time as soon as it is sold. Tellico Village is situated on Tellico Lake, just south of Knoxville, TN (Exit #81, off I-75). It is a golf/boating community of primarily, but not all, retirees. We are within an hour's drive of the waterfalls an...
Hi All, I read that Howard had to make some roof repairs, however he didn't go into detail as to how he did them or what product he used (or did he?..hmm). Anyone have any good tips on products or methods for repairing rubber roofs???... GBY.......... Doncat

What I would like is from anyone some information on does and donts and what to expect and if its A good idea to pull a car on this t...
Hi there, I wanted to ask about toilet cleanliness. As I have been looking at the RV toilets and I realize many do not have much in the way of water. Do the toilets tend to get gross after a BM? (Sorry I have to ask!) I am a clean freak in many ways and this is something that has begun to concern me. Anyone have a...
It is almost impossible to find regular gas anywhere that doesn't contain 10% ethanol. Have any of you noticed any drop in power or mileage with your gas powered RV or TV? I can tell the difference with my Honda Element Toad, but so far have not driven the MH enough to tell if there is any decr...
I am not sure if I am in the right area to post this one but here goes anyway.... Do many RV'ers here own your own lot?? We are in just a beautiful new 55 plus resort in Az. It is a brand new park that is being rebuilt by a corporation called Leisure Concepts. The trend seems to be it will be getting harder to fi...
Howard- How do you think Linda would feel riding in this tow vehicle? I received this in an email and had to share it. Maybe this guy could benefit from a weight safety class. This lesson on how not to do things seems to totally escape some people. I'd love to see how the trip ended up, but I feel confident h...
Just thought I would drop a line and see what is going on. I have been retired for 1 year from General Motors/Delphi. We are not quite ready to full time but the thought is never far from our minds. Nice site! Kudo's to Howard & Linda.
I ran across this National Geographic site for those crazy sign pictures we all have - check out the Photo Gallery. They are taking new submissions. I recall seeing numerous funny signs on this forum and thought for those interested here's a place to submit them... Enjoy!
I just stumbled upon GoSiena.com while reading entries on the Escapees Forum. Interesting! Anybody know anything about this company or product? I like the use of name brand applicances made for the home.
I just wrote asking about gas grills and propane, but now I am wondering if just charcoal is a better choice? What do you use out there for your barbecues while fulltiming? Before we buy one...it will be good to hear the pros and cons and best choices for others Thanks Larry
We are not much for traveling with other people, preferring to meet up with them and do things together. We are late starters and only drive 150-200 miles most days and normally have lunch in the RV. Most people we know are early starters, travel further per day and go out to eat for lunch most travel days...
Well I am Leslie and my other is Bill. We have been discussing RVing for a long time and recently through a number of different things coming to a head it is something we are looking at more seriously. Your website is so inspirational. This weekend we went to a few RV dealers looking around seriously fo...
We are still some years away from going full time so we have not yet test drove any MH or TV. However, I am 6'1" and my wife is a petite 4"11". So she is a concerned about being able to drive a large Motorhome or Truck. I am assuming that the drivers seat and pedals adjusts to all sizes...
Does anybody know a good source of information on how to use the convection microwave? We have both the oven and the convection/microwave and I want to be able to use either of them. I read this post on cooking with the oven and the use of the cooking stones etc. to even out temps. but I need more informat...
What a fantastic name your site has. We are a couple dreaming about RVing like so many. We are from Quebec and we will put the house on the market next coming Spring. We don't have any RV yet, we are still studying what we should get. Your forum seems great for learning.
Howard we are so sorry for your loss. It is good that you did get to spend some time with him. Please except our condolences and we are praying for the family. Joe and Sherri
Hi.. My husband and I are planning on fulltiming in the next year (or so) and we are having a tough time picking out a 5th wheel. We really like the Excel - what we can find out - but they are hard to find here on the east coast. Anyhow, Doug's RV in Duncan Oklahoma seems to carry quite a few...has anyone had any...
Hello All! I'm the HighwayRanger, and I've just joined the RV-Dreams community! I'm already a nuisance over at the Escapees, IRV2, NuWa Owners, and other forums, so I figured I'd wade in here! We have a 2007 Itasca Spirit Class C motorhome which is our most recent camping apperatus to be used while ra...
I was wondering if some of you here spend winters in Mexico or at least some of the winter there and if so can you tell us here in the Forum something about it or your experiences. Campgrounds and such....I think this would be the ideal climate for winter time. I would also think reservations have to be wa...
We are in the process of buying a Webber gas grill for the new MH, and think we will get the Q 200....and the folding table and case. However we do not want to hook it up to the Vectra's propane tank, and those little disposables are a pain...so I was wondering if it is safe or advisable to buy a regular 20...
We have one , but it sure takes up a lot of room ! So here's the question; Since we now have 85 gallons of grey water storage and we dont really plan on any longterm boondocking, is it really worth the realestate it commands sitting in the back of the truck ? We used it a fews times in the past, when we stayed a...
Do most of you hookup your sewer hoses immediately when you pull into your site and keep your tanks draining all the time or do you hookup sewer hoses and when your tanks are filled then empty them .....we wait til full or are getting close to full then empty and flush. Hope this question is not to con...
We are planning on a trip to Alaska in 2008. We have been several times previously but this is the first with an RV. The last time we bought 44 pounds of frozen fish and brought it home in an insulated box that we checked as baggage. We are thinking about bringing home frozen fish this time. We know that some...
