Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
The young man who will become my son in law in 16 months sent me an E-mail asking what kind of mileage he and his buddies could expect from a 30 foot Class C motor home with a Ford engine. Now I know you will all want to know a lot of other details, but I don't have them. I'm just looking for reasonable estimat...
As we've been following a number of our RV-Dreams family members' websites and/or blogs and have noted that some of you have stayed at Rainbow Plantation in Summerdale, Alabama. This is just a quick note to say that if you ever find yourself here that we would enjoy meeting you - so stop by and sit a sp...
Fellow RVers, I need to replace the tires on my tow vehicle. Being new to towing a large 5er I have been trying to decide the best tire to use. After much reading I am more confused than ever. Do I need an all season tire? An all terrain tire? In the beginning I will be mostly on paved roads but hope to eventual...
So I have been looking at motorhomes of every shape size and range of price and the one thing I see fairly consistantly is leather sofas and couches. When I asked the dealers at the shows they all said "Everyone asks for leather." Now I was born and raised in Florida so maybe it's just me, but le...
If any of you have experience with a Kodiak or Topkick Monroe Conversion with the pickup bed. Here's my question: I have a 1994 Alfa See-Ya 5'er and had the axles moved to the bottom of the springs to work with a 1984 4X4 Chevy with a 3" lift. I just bought a 2007 Kodiak Monroe conversion with the picku...
We are wondering if there is a problem in our coach battery. The motorhome is only 8 months old. It is currently winterized and sitting here in Illinois. We have the disconnect switch turned off at the door but in checking in on it, the battery seems to be totally drained after sitting only 2 weeks. T...
Audrey and I have been RVer's for about a decade, owning 1 gas Class A, 2 DP's and presently own a 2007 Super Class C diesel on a Kodiak chassis. We live in Branson, MO when we are not traveling, and if anyone happens thru there, you can PM us and we'll buy breakfast at Clockers in beautiful downtown Branso...
After 13 long months, we have a buyer! They are ready to move in---we close in 10 days! Today was the day to give 2 weeks notice at w*rk, get a storage place for some of our stuff, and make plans to drive south until we can buy stone crabs and key lime pie! Thanks to all for this great community.
Hi everyone -- we have started a travel journal on Blogspot...the url is: http://www.justravelin.blogspot.com Join us on our adventures, but keep in mind that some days the big adventure is getting the laundry done or our hair cut! Happy Travels, Ellie
I think the best RV Club is the one that is made up of people who have the same RV that you have. So if you have an XYZ brand RV from the ABC company, go to the ABC company web page and find out where the RV Clubs are for the XYZ brand. There is nothing more fun than to be parked in an RV Park surrounded by people wit...
Maybe you all are familiar with this but did you know that Mapquest has a convenient way to find campgrounds? Just found this out on another site and thought I would pass it along to anyone else a little slow on the road ! Go to Mapquest then choose lookup category and find it in Sports and Recreation....
On December 28th, my truck was stolen in Houston, it was stolen while we were eating dinner and has not been found yet. I have just replaced it with an F-350 last week. I have been researching the Houston truck thefts and figured everyone with a Ford truck would like to see this article about what is go...
Howard, Would you share with me the proceedure used to put pictures into a journal like yours. Just starting ours and would like to use your type of format. Thank you in advance, Sue Menegay Life is good!!!
A new job, a new blog and a new lifestyle. After 6 months of unemployment, I finally got a new job. As a contract underwriter, it has been pretty slow since last fall. I got a contract in Richmond, VA and with it the opportunity to start full-timing. I will be going it alone for a while, my DH, Tom, will s...
Who has one now and are you happy with the result ? Time is approaching fast for us to make a decision on what kind of hitch we are going to have installed on the truck. ( I am leaning towards AIR ) I believe the fifthwheel we'll be getting will have a MOR ryde pin box on it.
Hi everyone, I found this forum about a week ago and have been devouring as much information as I can. What a great group you all are. My husband and I hope to hit the road in about 4 years if his health holds out. If not I plan to go it alone. Right now we travel with 4 shelties, three of which are very willin...
We have changed midstream and are looking at used coaches. We found this one and wonder if anyone can give us an idea of what tire size may be and if they have one and pros and cons for it. Thanks for any info.

While researching which campgrounds we have stayed at since 2001 had wi-fi advertised I learned something interesting, only two of them no longer exists! I probably should total the number of distinct campgrounds, but we have made just over 500 stops and I expect the total number of campgrounds to b...
We purchased a '05 Excel 5ver last year and are very pleased with it. It is no longer under warranty so I asked Good Sam's for Quote on their continued service plan. Their quote came to 360 /yr with a 300 deductible. Is it reasonable to expect to pay over 660 /yr in repairs. We are going to be on a very tig...
My wife Sharon and I have been camping since we got married. We started with a very used 1963 Starcraft popup. Those days were fun with the four kids and dog; setting up in heavy rain, cooking out over the fire, walking one of the kids in the middle of the night to the bath house !!! Th...
we had an offer on our home, finally a decent offer. They want most of the furniture included, which works out well because we would have to sell or give away anyway.. The only thing we would be concerned about would be our shingle roof, the inspector may say it needs a new one.. we countered for 5,000 more...
Hi all. I am just wondering how you crafty RVers store your craft supplies for safe travel and easy access? I scrapbook and I make dolls, and my supplies are fairly organized now in my home, but they will need to be seriously pared down and reorganized for RV travel. Does anyone have any suggestions on co...

Just wondereing if anyone in the RV Dreams Community are Nascar fans? When we get on the road we hope to visit a few tracks. If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them. I don't know when we will hit the road it all depends on selling our business and our home. Hopefuly that will be this spring. Pam
We started fulltiming in Nov of 07. Our house sold before we got the sign in the yard in July '07. 3 weeks later Sally got a phone call saying she had cancer. We moved on with our plans. We sold our house, bought our RV and parked it at his sisters. We lived in it while going through chemo. On Nov 19th, Sally was...
