Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Longtime RVer, five years til FT

Have enjoyed RV Dreams.com for sometime now and finally registered as a member.  My wife and I live in Torrance, CA. and have been RVers since our honeymoon when we stayed on the beach in Ventura,CA. for a few days in a campershell.  My wife had never camped before and got the bug.  We've had an RV of one type or another for the past 34 years.  We have two favorite places to camp, Rincon Parkway in Ventura and Chula Vista RV Resort near San Diego.  Both are by the ocean, one is dry camping the other is a five star RV resort.
I have been involved in the telecommunications industry for 35 years and currently work for a government contractor with the FAA.   We have a video production and duplication business and plan to produce travel documantaries once we start full timing in 5 years.   My wife is a gourmet cook and travels with everything from a pasta maker to a full size Kitchen Aid mixer.   When other RVers are having hamburgers & hotdogs, we have prime rib cooked in an electric rotisserie machine and vegetables cooked in an electronic steamer.  She refuses to dry camp without her "neccessities"... That's why our 5th wheel was equipped from the factory with a 5kw generator, 4000 watt inverter and washer dryer.
In addition to being a gourmet cook, she has become a master at creating beautiful jewelry using precious and semi precious gemstones.  Her creations are stunning and she receives lots of compliments wherever she wears her necklaces, bracelets, rings and ear rings.
We did try a semi-fulltime life for a couple of years.  We sold jewelry, fashion accessories and tools at county fairs and swap meets in Southern California, Nevada and Arizona while using the RV as living quarters.  It was a fun, but very tough lifestyle (a lot of 17 hour days), so I went back to work at a corporate type job.
My 89 year old Dad lives with us.  He has mild Alzheimers and needs a little help once in a while.  He has always been an RVer and loves to travel with us.  His family owns the Friendship Flea Market in Indiana and he spent 6 months out of the year living in his Foretravel Motorhome while helping out at the flea market.
We now RV on the weekends throughout CA., NV and AZ and spend the month of July at Chula Vista RV Park.
Watch for us in our 22 year old gray chevy dually and Alfa See-YA 5er.

We too will soon be out there. I cannot wait to meet all the folks on this forum. Everyone seems so friendly and they all have so much fun meeting at the different CGs all over the country. Hope to see you out there soon.

That's the great thing about RVing.... everybody is friendly and willing to help out in whatever way they can.

We have made some good friends while travelling.

Eventhough I haven't met Howard & Linda, based upon their journal, they fit the bill for the type of folks you meet out on the road.

This website is a positive reflection on how wonderful the RV lifestyle is, whether you travel on weekends or fulltime.

Welcome!!!  I hope we have the pleasure of meeting on the road.  We're hoping to start our full time travels this summer.
