Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We are registerred for Nick Russell's Gypsy Journal Rally in Yuma, AZ March 8-12. I noticed in Nick's preliminary and impressive seminar line up that Mac McCoy, "The Fire Guy" will be there. Mac provides a fire suppression system and I have been thinking about getting one of them for the di...
Planning a trip to Alaska this summer - seems most campground reviews thru Canada and Alaska are not very highly rated. Anyone made the trip that would be willing to share their itinary and favorite(least favorite) CG's and locations. Thanks!
We were to "take off" this past Sunday to fulltime. Had lots of commitments. Life keeps throwing curves. I (phyllis) have been feeling poorly for about two months. Some days different to get through the day. It started with a large red and white sore on my left arm. Then a sore under my...
We are soon to be on the road to freedom. Freedom from a mortgage, property taxes, etc. Within the next 2 to 12 months we will be ridding ourselves of material congestions, and hitting the highways and byways of the US. We are so looking forward to it. My husband Don is 52 and I, Ann, am 45. We are both d...
I have a StarLite 31ft trailer, 5000lb. I used to have a 2007 Chevy half ton with 5.3L and had no problems towing the trailer in Texas. Even got 9.5mpg at 65mph. I was concerned about the towing if we go to New Mexico or Colorado, which we like to do, so I traded for a 2009 GMC 2500HD, 6.0L gas, 3.73 rear, 4...
I'm still looking for that cookbook that will help me turn leftovers into a surf and turf meal. I like to experiment with taste when cooking. Other than the usual garlic and onion powders, salt and pepper, what are some of the spices that you use to that end? Preferrable ones that will go with most meals....
I enjoy cooking and do alot of it...as long as the DW cleans up. I've been using frozen vegetables for awhile, but I recently discovered the frozen steamable packages and was presently surprised at their taste. I even tried one of the breakfast packages the other day, and it was pretty good after I adde...
Any Dreamers out west looking at braving the "Q" this year by chance? I'm tentatively thinking about heading out there for a day either next weekend, or the next. It's the only RV show in Arizona this year (They cancelled the Phoenix show).
Another discussion on GPS usage caused me to remember how some friends use their GPS, they use it to creatively take wild routes home. What they do is go someplace 25 to 50 miles from their campsite the normal way, maybe to go to a museum or some other attraction. But when they decide to go home they pro...
Mary and I are planing to head west to Arizona in June. She wants to see Sedona and I want to see the Grand Canyon. We don't really boondock, but I need some inexpensive suggestions for places to stay for two weeks at a time. From there we hope to head north to Wyoming and Yellowstone. -------------------...
We have moved up to a MDT, so the Dodge is for sale. It is a 4X4 dually with the 6.7 cummins and factory exhaust brake. It is a Larimie trim package so it has just about everything. $36500 will put it in your drive Thanks.
Wasn't sure which area to post this in. When you are full time on the road where do you get your prescriptions from? (the ones you take regularly) I know Walgreens pharmacies keep scripts on a nation widw data base does Wal-Mart do the same?
This one is new to me. Here in Oklahoma City, they have advertised that the radio station that I listen to the most is also going to be on FM on digital HD radio. While I am interested in this format to some degree, I can't find much about it online. Do any of you have experience with this format of radio? Wi...
For those that follow our blog and are planning to fulltime in the future, I thought I would publish some statistics to indicate what we did this year and our expenses in major categories that would have some commonality. 2009 was our 4th year on the road and the Wandering Wishnies haven't slowed down a...

Hoping to get a little feedback here. I've been reading different posts and researching on my own about all the different options available. Can I give you our situation as I envision it and perhaps get some feedback/ideas? Satellite is probably not an option due to different factors, mainly pri...

Anyone with a fifth wheel know about towing restrictions in Canada & Alaska? We would like to tow a jeep behind our fiver. Thanks! Also any good travel blogs on Alaska travel, RV parks etc would be appreciated.-- Edited by endless travels on Saturday 9th of January 2010 05:11:55 PM
While I liked the Mac software iWeb that I was using for our blog it was not as easy to use and was preventing me from making entries. Adding entries was a lot of work and took way more time then I wanted to spend. So I have switched to using Blogspot. I noticed a lot of Dreamers used the same service so I fig...
My husband and I are so excited to be going to the 2010 Americade in Lake George NY. Are any of the RV-Dreamers planning on attending???? We would love to meet up and maybe get in a bike ride. We are staying at the Lake George Resort.
Finally got around to posting some photos at my blog site http://journeys2005.spaces.live.com/ Please keep in mind it was moving weekend, so things are a bit cluttered!
while perusing other forums, I came across the link for this one...really awesome reading! My eyes are starting to cross from trying to take everything in..... So, as to me- my husband retired in February at age 53, (I am 50)and we decided we didn't like where we live, so we sold pretty much everythin...
Hi, This really seems like a nice group here. I've been reading on and off for a while and decided to join. I'm a flea market vendor (big surprise there ) and am planning on fulltiming beginning this summer. I had to sell my last trailer due to a divorce but I'm looking for a small classic tt or maybe an ol...
Hello. My wife and I have been retired for 10 years now and have decided to sell everything and start fulltiming. From the different post I've read we are about 10 years of to much dreaming but still time to get it started. The house will go for sell in the early spring and hopefully we will be travelling...
I had the state map on my blog, but couldn't update it...I removed it, but cannot find where I located it on the web...does any one have the link? Also how do you update it to add new states to it?? TIA
I don't know if this has been posted, I don't remember seeing it. It is fantastic, the ex-military folks will understand how difficult this is. I hope it works. Here's a link to the performance of the US Marine Drill Team at a recent Denver Nuggets Basketball game. It almost makes your hair stand on end....
Hi, Real new here and hope this is where this belongs. I'm planning a selling trip down from Ohio down on and around either I-75 or I-65. I haven't been south of Ohio during the winter since a stint at Ft. Polk and Ft Campbell. How far south do I need to travel until most campgrounds are likely to be open. ...
