Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We were to "take off" this past Sunday to fulltime. Had lots of commitments.
Life keeps throwing curves. I (phyllis) have been feeling poorly for about two months. Some days different to get through the day.
It started with a large red and white sore on my left arm. Then a sore under my left armpit. The Day after Christmas I went to ER. They said I was getting over the flu and arm sore was strained shoulder.
My Dr saw blood work and was concerned about my liver enzymes being high. Sent for more blook work. Last Monday had appoinment with her and could not even sit in her office. Had to go in and lay down on exam table. Tuesday admitted to hospital. I was kept there until Sat.
They eventually brought in infectious disease dr. Asked if I had a cat. Yea, found a stray kitten in Sept and bought home. Many playful scratches. Diagnosis - cat scratch fever.
It has attacked my liver, spleen and lymph nodes, hence the sore under my arm.
I am on antibiotics and need to get blood work and see dr once a week for the next 6 weeks or so.
So, Len is now retired and home with me. I am still very weak. I am thankful he is home and able to cook, take me to appointments etc.
We are deeply disappointed we were not able to leave this week but it is good I am at "home" while sick and near my own doctor and family.
So sorry to hear about your illness. I'm sure it has to be very frustrating to be oh so close and then have the brakes slammed. But hopefully this will be just a small speed bump and you'll be rolling down the road soon. I'll pray for your quick recovery.
So sorry to hear this and I wish you a very speedy and total recovery. Life throws us curves now and then. Hopefully this is just a short delay. Take care!

Whoa! I thought your thread title was a pun on something. Sorry to hear it's literal! At least you know what it is, and you're getting treated for it. Just a minor bump in the road, get well soon!

So sorry to hear about your illness. We are sending good wishes for a speedy recovery. The road will still be there when you are better. Just concentrate on getting better.
I also had cat scratch fever some time ago but sound like mine was caught earlier than yours... don't worry you will be on the road before you know it...
After the delays you've had, think of how great it will feel when you do finally do hit the road.
Hurry and get well. We'll be waiting for you.
Jim

We're praying for a speedy recovery. I can sympathize with your delay. I know it must have been devastating.
We too have a delay. Stick house was supposed to go on the market this week and this past Monday discovered I needed to have search. So, we have to wait. Can't have people walking thru the house while I'm in bed.
Hoping you feel better everyday. So glad to hear you have your own personal nurse, cook, housekeeper and sleep mate.lol I'm sure he will take good care of you.

Thanks for well wishes. This is first time in days I have felt strong enough to get on computer.
Saw Dr yesterday. Liver still out of whack. I am still extremely weak. He is still saying it will take several weeks to get strength back. I get blood work again next week and see him.
I'm really sorry to hear about this, and I pray you recover swiftly. Life deals some strange curve balls sometimes.
This probably won't make you feel any better, but just about 11 years ago I had to drag myself to the emergency room (courtesy of ask-a-nurse at my health insurance carrier) because of fever, a swollen and painful leg, and a swelling in the lymph nodes in my groin).
My doctor came to see me in the morning and said we have either a cat-scratch fever, or a lymphoma.... turned out to be lymphoma, and you don't want to go there if you can help it. The lymphoma is gone, thank the Lord, but there are other complications down the road from chemo etc. that have put me on the sidelines as far as RVing goes...
So, get well quick and keep us updated on your adventures. I can only vicariously enjoy all the wonders that all of you discover out there.
