Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Hi everyone. We are contemplating moving into our 28' 5th wheel fulltime. We are thinking we'll need to find sites that would allow us to stay for a number of months at a time, as we'll need to work. We're both 60, a retired pilot and retired secretary. Husband has heart issues that aren't critical, b...
I was talking to a salesman the other day when I was test driving a Class A RV and he mentioned that diesel engines do not have the power that gas engines do. He also mentioned the torque kicking in when your motor revs up to 2000 rpms. I am not an expert on diesel engines and was wondering if someone could c...
Over the past month I have been working at cleaning and waxing my roof. I started out using a Scotch Brite No-Scratch nylon/sponge pad and Isopropyl rubbing alcohol on an area of about 12 inches square. I would next use a piece of old towel to wipe up the alcohol and dirt and then later I would go back over a...
This is from fellow RV'r who has a strong concern for their friend. It's an opportunity to stay at one of the most beautiful places on earth and help someone out who really needs it. In return, a free place to settle for awhile. Here's what he wrote in his blog: "As we talked with Belle this morning i...
While we were planning and learning about the full-time RV lifestyle we bought a number of items that we thought would come in real handy once we were on the road. A couple of them have either rarely been used or never been used. We each got a padded bag for our lap top computers. I think one of us has used o...
We seem to be getting closer to ordering a Mobile Suites, but since I am an old-timer and former truck driver, I have some questions regarding the Nev-R-Lube hubs on the Dexter axles. The question comes because of my concern for a very important aspect of a vehicle that says it doesn't need periodic lub...
Although we do not own an RV yet, we did take the plunge, through the motivation of many here, to 'start' clearing our lives of clutter. So far over the past two weeks we have gone through the kitchen, den and one bedroom. It is amazing to see what one keeps that they have never used, forgotten they had, or...
Merry Christmas All, We are wannabes here in Oklahoma and are undertaking the necessary steps to becoming fulltimers. There is so much to do and learn and decide. What do we get rid of more important where do we start. My hubby is retired and I have another year and a half to go before retiring. We are...
I just want to say that I hope you all had a great Christmas full of love and laughter, friends and family, and of course good food! We had a wonderful time at our house... my little one is still totally into Santa and had a blast! A child sure makes Christmas magical... My laptop went down the day before C...
In becoming a fulltimer one of the questions I have is dealing with "fulltimer insurance", does anyone have it and if so what does it cover and who carries this type of insurance?
Since buying our town home I sure miss traveling and the warm weather. It's cold here at Cochiti Lake but I still prefer having a home again. We will be on the road again in the spring for several long trips. I'd like to continue our trip up the Pacific coast. We left California because of all the wild fire...
Gave my bonnie bride a new Kindle for Christmas, ordered it online from Amazon. It came set up with my name already installed . I want to change it to her name, after all, it is her gift. No instructions came with it to change the name. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Best Regards!
Is there anyone with the above weather radio that could give me a "how to set it up to alert for storms etc" ? We bought this at Fry's Electonics last year in Vegas. No one at Fry's knew how it worked but we thought we could read the manual and set it up. Tried a few times this year and got confused...

May you all have a joyful, magical and safe holiday season and may your coming year be filled with new adventures, new friends, and safe journeys! I'll take a moment to express my gratitude for this site and all the folks here. As Dave and I venture down the path towards full-timing, it is so comforting...
I have a 6 lb (2 rib) standing rib roast planned for dinner and since this is the first one I've had to cook in a convection oven, I could use pointers please. What temp? How long per pound for rare to medium rare? Favorite method/recipe? Thanks!
I have read everything (almost) on this site over the last 8 months. One of my must reads daily is Howards journal. I found this great site in March of this year when I started looking to go full timing on the road. This has been my dream for many years. My wife is 100% with me. Her youngest daughter graduate...
