Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I have started part-time work as a virtual assistant! Right now I'm on my second Web research project. Not that I really wanted a second job right now...like I don't have enough to do anyway...but I was testing the marketplace and was hired! YIKES and WHOOPPEE! Starting now will give a little side $$...
1) ATV= all terrain vehicle2) Blue Boy:Many boondockers find that using a portable waste water holding tank, typically called a "blue boy," (it has wheels on the bottom), is just the answer to leaving the RV in place, while still toting ‘that old black or grey water’ to the dump station....
Can anyone recommend a campground near the Sequoia National Park; and also one near Muir Woods National Monument north of San Francisco? Thanks for your help!
Hello everyone! We are a family of four that have been fulltiming for awhile now but have just decided to blog about our journey. Please join us for the ride! Looking forward to meeting more wonderful people down the road..... The McLeod Family http://www.freelylivinglife.blogspot.com/
Pat has been doodling around with Wordpress for a year or so and created a site that is not really a travel blog like most, with frequent updates, but more like a journal containing past trips in photos, and video. This is primarily for his own amusement and to keep him occupied, and for the family to rel...
I am sitting on pins and needles right now. Five years ago we started talking about becoming fulltime RVers. My husband was all for it, but it took a few years to convince me. An awful work experience with an abusive boss convinced me that having a house and "stuff" really wasn't that impo...
First let me be clear: I make no money on this product. But I've been asked to review it, and as it turns out, I really LOVE it. Like the rest of you, I have an eye out for things that'll make wifi easier or better, and I don't want to spent a lot of money on it, either. This, is that. It's a USB directional wifi an...
Has anyone out there stayed at this state park. If so, did you prefer one campground over the other (Bear Paw vs Pine Ridge)? Need to make a reservation for our summer trip up there and just thought I'd check with you all.
My experience with heat pumps is pretty limited. I stayed with a relative once, back in the '80's, that heated their home with a heat pump. The house always seemed to be cool, although warmer than the outside temperature. Our current house has a combination unit, both conventional gas heat and a hea...
Well here we are. We took off yesterday to fulltime travel. We left NJ at 7:15 am got to Lumberton NC around 5:30 pm. We are now back on the road on I20 headed to Livingston TX. At this time it is raining and we are in a traffic jam for as far as we can see. Hey, no sweat. It's not like we have to be anywhere at...
I was wondering where does the money come from for your " extras" and unplanned expenses...Do you have a reserve of savings that you draw from.. If so what is the recommended amount.. I know in the stick house they say 3 - 6 months is it the same with FTing... Thanks for any input ..patti
We just went to a dealer the other day and were impressed by the Open Road 5th Wheel. We assume they are being built for fulltiming as having a four seasons option as well as a r28 ceiling and r21 floor insulation. Their rigs compartment doors have an automotive D-seal to keep out elements and pests. We we...
Finally made it to the website! Thanks for telling me about it- you were right, there is a wealth of info on this site. I will be posting a link from my website, so others can find it. Did you guys get your new rig? If not, call me or come by. I am looking at a new 07 Mobile Suites sometime this week that has...
Today was to be (again!) our take off date. Well, here we sit in NJ with about 4 inches of snow and icy roads. We were to head south through VA and the Carolinas. They have it worse than us. So, now we wait for the weather to warm and roads to clear. To make matters worse, we tried retracting the slides last...
Please help us add more parks to this Web site: http://www.rvparkreviews.com/ This is a good site and if you have been to parks that are not on here it would be helpful if you would add them and comment on them...Good or Bad. We all need help when reseaching where to stay Thanks
I have been lurking around Howards web sites and other RV forums for years and decided to join RV Dreams. Kathy and I just bought our first fifth wheel, a 2010 Carriage Cameo. We drive back to Tennessee to pick her up in March and start our adventure! Not full time yet. Still working (both of us ) but god wil...
OK! Only a few days left for you to register for the RV-Dreams Rally in South Carolina. I was just looking at the list of RV Dreamers that have already signed up, and 13 of them have attended one or both of the past rallies, and I know that some of those 13 have been Full-timing for quite a few years. I take tha...
Even though we are a year or so away, there are some great deals around, i think i will make my move, going to check out the unit next weekend. If all goes well, i will pick it up in April from Texas----------Drive to the rally in S Carolina, then back up to NY---Pretty Excited, G
Hi~ We full timed for 2 years thinking we would satisfy our travel hunger. We didn't. We are planning on going back on the road next spring. (have to fulfill some responsiblities at home first!) SO, here are some questions... 1. best way to SELL virtually everything 2. What is the best way to sta...
Dave had done some caulking in the shower a few days ago. Not wanting to get the drain plug messy with caulk, he lifted up the plug and oops! The top two parts came apart from the shaft that is actually in the drain. Oh goodie. The shaft part has a tab on top which fits into a groove in the top thingie of the p...
Hi Everyone! My little girl and I got to go to our very first RV show last Friday! It was the Alabama Super RV Show in Huntsville. It was a small show - compared to many of them - but was a good way to "get our feet wet". We had a great time looking at all the cool stuff that is available. I ca...

Exercise today... not for us, but for the motorhome! We took it out today for it's exercise run. We try to do it every month while parked during the cold winters. We did it in November but missed December. So we decided that it was a good day to do so.[img]https://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y97/karen...
Since we got our Travel Trailer, we've been wondering if we could stuff both bikes in the back of the truck? Well, fortunately a friend had a long, folding, WIDE, aluminum ramp (a VPI Bad Boy) and he let me borrow it to see if it would be possible to fit our Harleys in the bed of our F350. Well... we a...
We just put our house on the market two weeks ago, only had one looker that we know of. Its a buyers market we will just have to be patient. Regardless if the house sells or not we have a 3 month trip to Alaska comming in June. We are going to pull our TT up there. If the house sells we will update to a 5ver when we g...
