Exercise, Furniture and Recycling (with photos)

Exercise today... not for us, but for the motorhome! We took it out today for it's exercise run. We try to do it every month while parked during the cold winters. We did it in November but missed December. So we decided that it was a good day to do so.

It was above freezing, though it was rainy and icky.

We drove 28 miles up to Marinette and stopped at Shopko to buy a new Euro Chair and ottoman for our motorhome. We had previously discussed getting this chair and ottoman and this week it was on sale. We currently had 2 couches and Steve thought we could use more room by taking one out. So we decided we could remove the couch on the right and use that space with a Euro Chair and ottoman.

We drove the motorhome right to the store. We purchased the chair, removed it from the big box, and loaded the pieces into a shopping cart. We left the box inside the store with permission at the service desk. One less thing for us to dispose of. Let them recycle it!

We assembled the chair in the motorhome while we parked right there in the lot. Pretty nice chair made with microfiber; It reclines, swivels and rocks, as does the ottoman too.

Goodwill was located right across the street, and was open and accepting donations on a Sunday. 2 guys came out and helped carry the opened up flat couch right out the door of the motorhome and into the store. It's completely usable as a free standing couch and jackknifes out into a bed.

Then we drove on back home, and parked the rig again till next month.... wish we could keep going and going and going-----

Karen,
Thanks for sharing your pics - the new chair looks great!  It's pretty cool to be able to drive your house right to the store & pick up the new furniture!

There is just something that makes a man feel more "kingly" when sitting on a throne/chair like that versus a couch.  The "commoners" sit on the couch.  Love the chair.  Nothing like a little camper workout/shopping trip to take care of the winter doldrums....Marty

This one was the jacknife kind that flips open flat to a bed.. .so we flipped it open, and tilted up on its side and the guys carried it right out the door. Easy Peasy!

Oh yes, we were lucky. It was a peach of a deal, with only 22,000 miles on it when we got it.

Barely used inside as well as out. Heck even the stickers were still in the sinks and shower stall. The micro/convection still had the books inside in plastic and not a crumb to be seen. I think they mostly used the fridge and the icemaker ... and owners travelled to their condo twice a year from Wisconsin in Arizona and parked it.

We have put a few well-loved scratches on the outside from narrow country roads... but they are Badges of Honor... tee heee
