Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Going Back to FullTiming

Hi~  We full timed for 2 years thinking we would satisfy our travel hunger. smile We didn't.  We are planning on going back on the road next spring.  (have to fulfill some responsiblities at home first!)
SO,  here are some questions...
1.  best way to SELL virtually everything
2.  What is the best way to stay connected now?  (We had a nice cell phone plan and a wireless card)  We want to have high speed Internet and cell phones that don't cost too much.  We had Verizon and it was 'ok'
3.  Best places to spend the winter....factors of things to do, RV park WITH a pool, and not too expensive

Thanks in advance for any help!

OH, we have two cats and a dog....did our last F/T with one cat and a dog...no problems with that EVER!

Welcome to the forum! smile

Full-timing is hard to get out of your blood once it gets in there. We have known quite a few folks who have stopped and then started again because the miss the lifestyle so much.

The questions you asked will depend on your personal preferences but I'm sure there will be folks here that will be able to give you suggestions.

We gave most of our "stuff" to our kids so didn't have any problems there.

We use a cell phone and an air card to stay in touch

As far as we're concerned anyplace where it's warm is a good place to be for the winter.

Good luck with your dreams. Maybe we'll meet you on the road sometime. smile

Jim

Welcome back!!!
We use the Verizon air card for internet along with an amplifer, Wilson Trucker Antenna and the cradlepoint router. Bought all of the equipment through the 3G Store. We have NO problems with this set up and it allows both of us to use our laptops at the same time. We also have the Verizon cell phones and have no problem getting connected anyplace we have been. Very happy with both set ups.

We kept several pieces of family heirlooms (furniture) and way too many other items in our climate controlled storage locker. LOL We will continue to downsize this area as we go along. Our son took what he wanted. We had two huge yard sales and sold a few things on Craig's List. We gave away many items to Goodwill and Salvation Army. Lots of stuff ended up on the curb and became someones "treasure." You probably won't sell everything just try to sell what you can and then look for places to donate.

I agree with Jim, any place that is warm is a good place to spend the winter. If you go where there are plenty of snowbirds you will not be hurting for things to do. Where you spend the winter is really a personal decision.

Good luck!!

We hired an auction company to sell our "stuff" ten years ago.  We probably didn't get top dollar, but it was a really easy way to get it done.....the auction company spent an afternoon viewing all our stuff several days before, a morning moving out to our yard and in an afternoon it was all gone!!!

We use Verizon to stay in touch.

We prefer Arizona in the winter...many RV parks to choose from with a wide range of price and amenities...tried Florida and the Rio Grande Valley of Texas and there are pros and cons to all three.

Welcome back!!!

Mary

Thanks, we love Arizona.  Any parks that you like?  We would like to be on the outskirts of town and we do have pets.  I also am very fond of swimming!  We stayed at one in Mesa (Mesa del sol?confuse)and then one at 19th ave and Dunlap  (disbelieftoo noisy up there).  Both had nice amenities and nice people, though!  OH!  we lived in Phoenix for many years before we started F/T but as you know, RVing is another world and we still need park info!  We will be in Phx next year for the winter...then hopefully back here to sell all in the Spring and SUmmer!  Thanks, Susan

When we get ready to go out on the road we plan to let the kids come in and take what they would like to have then have several garage sales, sell on craigs list, give to the Salvation Army and then have the auction company come in and sell the rest as I know we won't get top dollar as I have worked with them in the past. But something is better than nothing.
