Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Im living in a Rockwood Special Edition 5th wheel. It sits in the sun mostly and since I purchased it the wallpaper in many places seems to be coming loose. Im not sure if its wallpaper or wallboard? Anyone have an idea how to remove , replace or repair this? its a white almost like a plastic type cover?
It was nearly two years ago that this process began for us.Here in Oklahoma City, the Spring RV Show was going on at the fairgrounds, which, incidentally, we pass on our way to and from work each day.On that particular day, as we were going home, Jo said, “Let’s stop by the RV show.I want to look at some...
My husband (48) and I (35) are in the Tucson area for the winter. Pierre's daughter and her best friend (both 20) are coming out to visit in a couple weeks. Since they are flying into Phoenix we were going to stay in Phoenix both the night they arrive and the night before they leave so we don't have t...
I'm new to this forum, but have been fulltiming for close to four years. I'd sure enjoy meeting other members if you are in the Austin area. I'm volunteering out at Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge for the spring. Come join us at the Songbird Festival this April!
Well we have had a record breaking snow on Thursday and part of Friday and now we have freezing fog this AM. I wonder what is next? Maybe sun shine or could be a volcano will erupt in down town Fort Worth. Wow this global warming is going to freeze me.
For those of you who don't follow our blog, we are excited to announce that we have accepted an offer on our house! We actually signed on the dotted line about a week and a half ago, but had some pending issues to resolve. We've made it through the inspection and are now just waiting for loan approval. W...
Does anyone have any knowledge about the tax law when you sell your stick house and what kind of penalities are there for not reinvesting in more real estate?
Got this from fulltime RV friends in Arizona...they said the women in the motorhome had been up out of her seat JUST 10 seconds before the accident happened...thank God she was buckled in and back sitting down before this happened. Do not know the facts as they are just heresay. Whenever w...
We are not new to fulltiming, however, we have always owned a gas motorhome. We have just purchased a Fleetwood Dynasty, we take delivery 3/19. We don't know anything about a diesel pusher or about the propane generator. Any advise on what to expect and lookout for would be apreciated.
Hi Everyone! Have any of you had any experience with a website called work-for-rvers-and-campers.com?? I was wondering if the positions on there are legitimate, and if anyone has had any luck posting a resume' there. I do not mean any disrespect to the developers of the site, but I am not familiar w...
http://travels-with-emma.blogspot.com My four footed friend, Emma, and I invite you to follow along with us as we travel the country volunteering for various state and federal agencies. I hope I posted this correctly.
Tonight is our last night in Florida.... for this year anyway. Ira and I head back to Pa tomorrow. We plan to stop for a few nights at Kings Bay Submarine Base in Georgia. I cannot wait for the time we don't have to move on until we want to move on. On the other hand the sooner we go back the sooner we start pu...
At this point I'm still looking and won't buy until my property sells, but I'm pretty sure I want a 1 ton (Dodge is my choice) and a travel trailer (non-5th wheel). What have people done to set-up a generator and/or solar. Thinking about batteries, hook-ups, etc. and where they will fit. I've pulled s...
Hope all the RV-Dreams Family has a very nice day spent with your special someone or, if alone, treating yourself with a little something today! I know I sure have felt the love here since I joined and feel I have an extended family. Hugs to all, Betty
A while back I wrote a few post about my selling my TT and not being able to get my wife involved in the RV thing. Update; We have an up coming Mission trip to the Big Bend area (Presidio). Last Friday night she handed me some papers about renting a TT for us to use on the trip. Well Saturday we drove to the deale...
We are starting to dry camp with a 32ft 5th wheel and have decided to purchase a generator. Would like to hear from folks with suggestions. With which manufacture/model generator are you satisfied or dissatisfied?
Does anyone update their GPS periodically, or do you just buy a new GPS? I just checked and I can get an update for cities in the lower 48, but with the caveat that due to increased file size the maps might not "fit" on my device. I bought the Garmin a bit less than 1-1/2 yrs ago, and as far as I can...
It seems that most full timers out there have medicare or company retirement plan provided health care. We are planning to start up this Fall, losing our company health plan, and we're too young for Medicare. We're in good shape and can afford monthly premiums similar to what H&L pay, but we're...
The lucky RVers who are attending the winter olympics in Vancouver! It is astounding to me to watch the beautiful athletes from around the world amaze us with their unwavering determination and skill. It is so inspiring to think they spend years and years perfecting their sport all for one mome...
This is one Howard will love.... I came home from work to a red notice on our front door of the sticks & bricks house we own. The notice was from the Community Development Department (CDD) of the city we live in. It seems a anonymous neighbor turned in a complaint that we were doing unpermitted const...
I'm not much of a poster, but Dee wanted me to tell everyone our good news. Today I'm officially retired. That's the last hurdle to becoming real full timers. It's hard to believe our dream of full time RV living is actually coming true. I say "coming" true because we won't feel like we'r...
Well to all you lucky people in nice warm weather... it is snowing here in the Northeast... We have close to 2 1/2 ft of snow... my DH has been plowing out our lane for most of the day.. it is 1/2 mile long... and it drifts up to 6 ft with snows like this... I told him with any luck this will be his last big snow to p...
What a wonderful place I just found. Tons of great information and what looks like a great group of people. My status, 100% decided, 50% ready. Already started getting rid of stuff, put the house on the market and it sold quicker than I thought it would in this market. So I have a goal to be out the door and o...
Hi from Washington State. Mild winter here this year but everywhere else is getting slammed! Doing the yard sale/craigslist/goodwill thing and slowly getting down to a more manageable load of 'stuff' and hope to sell my property this year. Have a couple questions and will post them in the approp...
It is snowing here in Fort Worth, Texas and we can get up to 9 inches today. I have not seen the sun in so long. This is beautiful but I need sun shine lots of sunshine. I think I may need to move further south maybe Bolivia. Course if I did they would have a earthquake or a volcano would erupt and blow ash in the a...
We just read with heavy hearts the thread under boondocking that referenced a homeless family living in their RV. Several of the comments in the thread indicated that more folks are living in their RV's due to the loss of their homes. We have seen many full-time residents in some areas but didn't rea...
Our year for moving on to our new adventure....fulltiming in our home on wheels. We are Craig and Sue from Iowa. Our family and friends think we are crazy but we know this is our future full of new beginnings. I can't remember how I came upon this site while surfing but must say I am glad that I did. The w...
Our house goes on the market today! We are one step closer to full-timing and can hardly believe that it's almost a reality. This journey started for us about five years ago. Our mantra is "life is a journey, not a destination". We try to enjoy each day and have worked steadily towards ret...
