Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Have any of you had any experience with a website called work-for-rvers-and-campers.com?? I was wondering if the positions on there are legitimate, and if anyone has had any luck posting a resume' there. I do not mean any disrespect to the developers of the site, but I am not familiar with it and need further information. If this topic is somewhere else on the forum, I apologize for the duplicate post, and request the link, please!
Finding a workamp position as a single parent is not going to be easy, and I want to avoid scams if possible, so I am trying to learn all I can.
I would greatly appreciate any advice or guidance you can give. Would love to know what websites have worked for others!
Thanks so much for your help!! Kerri in Alabama

We've been looking at it for years. Never took a job, but I believe it's legitimate. The other organization we use is Workamper News - their website is
Oh thanks Fred! Knowing that you and your wife have followed it and that it has been around for a while makes me feel good about it! I may just post a resume' on there. Thanks also for the link to Workamper!.... I am sure I will have more questions when the time comes... Have a great day!

We posted our resume on workamper and receive many calls throughout the year.
You can also go to www.volunteer.gov/gov and search "RV" www.orn.usace.army.mil/volunteer and http://usasearch.gov
You can search through these for areas and openings and then write a cover letter and summit your resume to the appropriate person. We did this and will be doing a volunteer gig at another wildlife refuge this spring for a couple months.
If you want to host at a state park they usually have a place on their website for volunteers and many have online applications. You can also contact the park ranger at a specific park you might be interested in. We have done this also.
There is also a link on the Escapees forum for volunteering and one for working on the road that might lead you to a spot.
Yes, the postings on www.work-for-rvers-and-campers.com are very legitimate. After seeing the original posting on this forum, I called about two positions listed in Florida. Tomorrow we are moving from Wauchula to a 1200 acre equestrian, sustainable living, new home development for a 3 month stint to provide a "presence" for this gated community. Our motorhome will be parked next to the model home and the developer is putting in a 50amp service for us today. We talked with the manager by phone on Monday evening, visited the property on Tuesday, and will drive 25 miles tomorrow to move there. We'll have full hookups, use of the any of the 5 bathrooms in the model home, and the kitchen if we need it. This property is 1200 acres of hugh old live oaks, wetlands, 21 ponds, deer, wild turkey, armadillos, several bird species and 13 horses, with a new foal coming in about 2 months. Here's the website for the development www.saddleridgefl.com Check it out. It's pretty impressive.
All of this to just be there and keep the model home neat and clean for the realtor to show it and mow the lawn. Dan is also negotiating with the developer to do some grading and work on secondary roads which are yet to be developed.
Who would have thought that we could spend 3 months in Florida, rent free, in the winter?
If you're in the area, stop by.
