Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Im living in a Rockwood Special Edition 5th wheel. It sits in the sun mostly and since I purchased it the wallpaper in many places seems to be coming loose. Im not sure if its wallpaper or wallboard? Anyone have an idea how to remove , replace or repair this? its a white almost like a plastic type cover?
If it is paper, depending on the size of the sections coming loose, wallpaper paste available at any home center would work, If it is seams, they also offer seam sealer, roll it behind the paper, take a damp sponge, wipe the wall down pressing the paper down. The next step up in adhesive from there would be a heavier base adhesive for grass cloth, also available at home center. Next you go into trowel on type construction adhesives, read the directions, stick with water based products if you are a novice, work neat and clean, good luck, G
Ok thanks. It seems to be releasing at all the trim seams so I know those need to be removed first before I can get behind them. Upstairs its really bad . I need to put a cover over it or place it in the shade but limited finances at this time keep me from it. Im going to try an inconspicuous spot first so to get the hang of it. At least my camper is payed for. Whats a good wash to get the black crap from the groves in the outside finish the easiest way? I wasnt sure if I used regular car washing stuff or what can get that out of the fiberglass without damaging it. It just started getting black here lately I have been using a wash and wax on it but want to get this cleaned out before a good wax job
When you are doing as Gene said which is good advise, also check to be sure moisture isn't getting in to cause the wall paper to come loose.Go to any Store that sells RV stuff and get some Black Streak Remover, then be prepared to use a little " elbow grease" to get rid of that black stuff. By the way welcome to the forum.
