Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
My wife and I are looking at 3 - 5 years before going full time. She is 47 and I am 52. Have been planning for years to retire at 55, but economy may delay that a couple of years. It really depends on what the housing market will support. We want to have enough equity to pay off our rig and put 50-75k away tow...
I was wondering if there are any other Full Timers that are in a travel trailer ? I have been 4 years and just never seen many others that have travel trailers mostly 5th wheel or MH. Are there many pros & cons on travel trailers. Thinking about updating to a Jayco Flight G2 33 RLDS really like the...
Dave was rearranging some things in the basement and guess what we discovered. Mold. White stuff growing at the base of the sidewall, which is carpeted. We don't have the basement crammed. There is plenty of room for air circulation. We close and lock our basement doors after doing whatever in the ba...
Any of you that know us, know that we're newbies and are camping in our first campground, close to our last S&B, just to check out the RV systems before we hit the USA road. The RV is checking out suberbly! The campground we are at is providing us every amenity we need ... electricity, water, laundr...
I am considering taking my next assignment in San Francisco, and although I don't mind a commute, I would much rather ride the train/BART to and from the city. We are in a 40foot RV with our doggies, and just don't think it it worth it if all we can find is a parking lot to live in.Looking for nice RV parks ne...
Has anyone ever pulled a fifth wheel with a goose neck instead of a regular 5th wheel hitch? If so, how did it do? We are buying a 2006 which has the adapter on it....we will get a regular 5th wheel hitch put on a new truck, but for getting the camper to our house....do you think we can use a gooseneck? We hav...
Hey Howard. When you were at the Escapees Rally in the Fulltimers Forum you mentioned the Atlas that you use. My husband didn't write it down and asked me to send you an email. So if you don't mind......we would really appreciate it. Thanks.....
We're getting our 5er set up to full time. We will be traveling with a Golden Retriever & a long-haired cat. I'm unsure if I should go with a central vac system or a regular type vac. I worry that the central vac will not have sufficient suction power to adequately pick up all of the pet hair. On the...
I am getting ready to mount my Wilson trucker antenna. It has a 12 foot cable attached and it needs to reach my CradlePoint router (MBR900) to plug into to my Novatel 760 broadband modem. I have the 3-Way pipe mount for the antenna. The rig is a 34 foot Winnebago Brave. Is there a best place to mou...
Anyone know where a person could boondock around Laughlin, Nv. I know you can stay at a few of the Casinos, but they are so packed in there. Our dog is alittle to protective to stay in those places. Thanks for any ideas. Jerry
Well, heck. We're 70 miles inland from Myrtle Beach, SC and now on our third straight day of rain thanks to the cold front and Tropical Storm Nicole. Good thing is no winds. We love our Montana . . . except there seem to be things continually wrong. Now it's leaks again along the same seam towards the fro...
We are on the beginning stretch of a journey that we hope will be filled with only good things and fun. We hope for the best and are prepared for "issues" that may come up. We had a fantastic idea after one of our younger grandsons could not grasp that Papa and Grandma did not live in their old hou...
Ok, first question from us..officially . Al asked me to right and inquire if people on these boards think the new Club Workamper is good and something we should sign up for as they are doing the one price pays forever right now....anyone have any opinions on this please? Thanks!! Karen
We are Class C newbees and just rounded up glassware, dishes, etc. Then the light goes on ! How does all this stuff stay secure in the cabinets ?? Can't have those wine glasses careening around in the cabinet, can we? input appreciated, Thanks, Ted and Susan
We are in the process of buying a 5th Wheel.....2006 model.....the RV place is offering an extended warranty. I know I was reading somewhere about this and the consensus was don't get it. Are the warranties worth it?
I don't know whether to laugh or not, but I'm actually serious. I own a condo in Denver, CO that is empty and doing no good for me at all! I want to buy a used Class A, but things in north Alabama are not that good right now for used RVs (all too freakin' high!) The condo in Denver is in Woodstream Falls. I bou...
Hi there,We just purchases a new travel trailer and they are recommending the paint protection that will also include the fabric/leather/vinyl protection as well as the 5 year extended warranty on top of the manufacturer 2 years. The extended warranty is money back if you don't use at the end of the...
One of the problems that face RVers is that the internet service provided by many rural campgrounds can be really crappy. Sometimes, its really not the campgrounds fault and the root of the problem is the lack of broadband service "out in the sticks". That may change in the near future, tha...
LOCATION- NORTHEASTERN WISCONSIN This is a sturdy rack that carries a scooter or smaller motocycle with two hasps for security. One hasp is at the handlebar height and one hasp is near the side of seat to lock into place on the rack. Ramp attaches on end of rack to enable you to throttle the scooter/cyc...

I have spent a lot of time feeling "off", being stuck in one place. This world is too great, too full of beauty to waste away, always in one place. In trying to decide how to bring more travel into my life a few months back, I came across an RV. It all clicked. What better way could I i...
Greetings to all... We have been fulltimers for about 10 years but have only moved the rig about 7 times due to work assignments. Come Jan. 1 I will be officially "retired" and we plan to see all the places we have missed so far. Alaska next spring! This feels like the friendliest board we ha...
Sunday we were on I 64 in Indiana. Pulled into the Flying J. Diesel was advertised at 2.86 a gal but after we pulled in a sign on the rv and car pumps said car diesel was 3.09. Is this a common practice now?
I'm wondering if anyone has had a similar experience. Last weekend we were camped at a campground that offered free wi-fi. Sunday morning we got a phone call from credit card company A saying there was suspicious activity on our account; someone trying to make charges through Skype.com. They issu...
After trying to live our dream since February we are taking off again tomorrow. We started fulltime traveling over 7 months ago but it just never worked out the way we wanted. Family responsibilities kept us in Louisiana for 3 months, damage to fiver kept us in NJ for over 3 months. So, we are now...
We're preparing to conclude our full-timing chapter after a wonderful 2 year tour of the US with our kids. We want to downsize our 5th wheel to a less bulky size and also are willing to downgrade the amenities for the more limited use of a vacation rig. Any experiences with trade in's at dealers to downs...
