Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hi, I'm Craig from the Western NY region. I'll tell you a little about myself and plans and you can tell me what you think. Plus then I'll know if I'm even doing the "forum" thing right. I'm 56, retired for eight years from a local PD. Divorced (friendly enough), 2 grown kids. My pension is enou...
Three and a half years ago, a seed was planted that has since taken root, sprouted and is on its way to becoming a beautiful tree. I have been lurking around this forum and the RV-Dreams website since. DW and I meet Howard and Linda in January 2008 and have to say that we’ve never meet a couple who were more h...
I have spent the last 15 years killing myself to build my "career". Somewhere along the road, I lost track of living life, or of working to live, not living to work. Due to this fact, I have let the needs of the company I work for dictate my life to the point where my health is almost shot. Thanks t...
Had a minor identity crisis today. Was starting to go through my clothes and had a little meltdown trying to figure out who the next me is and what she needs in terms of wardrobe. Talked to Johnny about it, but have found most guys just don't understand this particular problem. Right now I'm not sur...
We've been parked (in the Cameo fifth wheel) for several weeks in one spot on a site with a sewer hookup. I leave the gray open constantly draining out. Every so often, I drain the black tank. This time, when I went to drain the black tank - no glug, glug, glug - it doesn't seem to be draining at all. I am assum...
After reading your entry today I must say "Adios". I cannot believe that a couple with over 1/4 million in the "bank" would ask for the community to support them. I for one, will not. That's almost like being on welfare.
I'll admit that I am a DROID fan. While other family members are are iPhones users, I picked DROID for my first smart phone. Main reason for doing this was based on carrier coverage. Currently we are on ATT. Many fulltimers are not. I got tired of waiting for the expected announcement that iPhone w...
Left home Friday and drove 454 miles to attend the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque, NM. Our reservations/rv space didn't include electricity, sewer, or water....so we were boondocking it with two adults, four children and three dogs, in a 27 foot TT. If you haven't attended the Balloon Fiesta, you...
Just wondering if any Dreamers are headed for Amazon.com this season? I could never talk my DW into working there again, but I wouldn't mind going back. We already have our winter 2010 job lined up so it won't be this year, but I wanted to see if any Dreamers were heading that way and could share your thou...
Hello, a lurker/wantabee here. We are looking at seven years out so I want to start by saying we know that there are going to be a lot of changes but we ar just preparing and doing our research. My question.......it seams that I have read, and it might have been even from a blog entry of Howards, but not sur...
Ok, Guys, Husband and I have been viewing a lot of RV's over the past month and the question that comes forward all the time is where am I going to do my traditional scrapbooking and sewing. LOL.....husband even said on this last vist, as we went into different models, now this one has a area for your sewi...
Howdy folks, my name is Alex Sian and one day soon, I hope to buy a Class C and join y'all out on the open roads! I'm originally from the pacific island of Guam where I spent 38 years 'growing up', and where my wife and son were both born. Work as a web developer brought my family and I out to Dallas TX in 1998, an...
I just saw a neat suggestion on the Carriage forum for an alternative to the 2 way radios that we use for parking assistance. Someone suggested using cell phones set to speaker phone for hands free instant communication without having to worry about pressing the talk button, or steering with one hand...
Our gig here ends November 1 and currently we don't know if we will have another assignment to head to immediately after this one. If not, we plan to land somewhere fairly close by in the interim. We are currently in Darlington, SC, about 70 miles west/inland from Myrtle Beach. Do not want to travel a gr...

I came across this RV forum a couple days ago and have spent hours reading. Ive never done any forums on anything before and have really enjoyed all the information and friendly p...
It might seem like a dumb question but I've been wondering about it ever since I saw where someone said not all RV's are good for FT use. Whats the main things one looks for? asks for? -- Edited by SkyJean on Tuesday 12th of October 2010 09:52:17 AM
We have a lead on a potential workamping position in San Antonio for Jan - April, 2011, which we are considering. We were just wondering if anybody out there is familiar with the area, and can provide any advice: Is the weather decent for winter (averages on weather.com say highs in the 60s/lows in the...
We ran our smartfan last light, and now can't get it to go on, and the other doesn't work at all (just picked it up from dealer, used 2003 HR Endeavor). We will go back tomarrow and husband is checking fuses. Any other ideas?
I know that Howard has recommended Rhino-Flex for his sewer connections.....my husband just bought DOMINATOR complete set with connections....before we open the box.....has anyone ever used the Dominator bran? I know this may be a lame question......but I want to buy the best.....and we haven...
Long story short, the two known major issues: We are looking at extensive deconstruction in the bedroom to address any internal water damage. The basement dampness/mold issue may be related to the known leak or may be resulting from something else leaking. The basement wall will have to be taken of...
We arrived today at the Escapees campground, Turkey Creek RV Village, in Hollister, Missouri, just across from Branson. We are going cross-eyed trying to learn about the various shows and also looking at prices. Shows are something we rarely do since we normally like natural stuff so we are out of...
Hello, All. We got word today that our Xantrex inverter is back from the recall service done on it. It should be back into the Mobile Suites by the time we go to Carthage, MO for a Suites mini-rally. While discussing things with the service manager at the dealership, I asked if there was a way to bypass th...
I've started a blog on Blogspot.com and I'm loving it...however, I want to add pictures and cannot figure out how it's done. NOT user-friendly! any help is appreciated from those of you who blog with blogspot and use pictures!
Okay, I know there are no dumb questions so am asking .... for future reference and planning. I want to pursue sewing and selling (home decor, quilts, etc.) as my main means of income when on the road but is there really room for it all? How do you do that? Can I set up an area without giving up too much living...
Please pardon me while I test whether I can even do this or not. I have signed up with a free account with Photobucket in order to share photos. Now, we'll see if I've figured anything out or not. Should be a picture of our Mobile Suites and Ford F450. Terry (Well, the preview worked, so I presume I've fig...
I was in a Home Depot the other day and notice that my 3G fone was picking up wi-fi hotspots thru out. I suspect they are for contractors to connect with customers or their company, but the hotspots were unsecure. Wonder if HD realizes that they might be creating a future boondock site for RVs?
The Fall Oklahoma City RV show will be October 14-17 at the Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City. Jo and I will have to miss this one as we will be in Carthage, MO for a Suites rally. But others of you may be interested. Terry http://rvshowokc.com/
