Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
My wife and I are looking at 3 - 5 years before going full time. She is 47 and I am 52. Have been planning for years to retire at 55, but economy may delay that a couple of years. It really depends on what the housing market will support. We want to have enough equity to pay off our rig and put 50-75k away towards an exit plan when we can no longer full time.
This site seems really informative towards what we want to do. Realy glad I found it through a recommendation on another site by Terry and Jo. I am really interested in what others are doing as "Work Campers" or to support their full time life style?
Hope to meet some of you along the way some day soon!

Sounds like you have a few years to figure out how you're going to finance your dream.
There's lots of information and friendly folks here, so if you can't find the answers to your questions, be sure to ask.
Good luck,
Jim

Seriously though, this is a great place to find a multitude of answers and even some questions that may not have been asked. It is certainly a location with a lot of great, friendly people.
In addition to the forums, perusing through Howard's daily journals will give a lot of information, insight, and encouragement. Also, check out the website's "Site Map" for a lot of topics and information.
Good to see you over here, and we hope to see you on the road sometime. Welcome to a great family of RV'ers.
Terry

RickandJanice, Welcome to the forum. As most experienced RVers will tell you, it all starts with a plan. Many wise souls cruise through here so soak in the wisdom.

Many thanks to all who have welcomed us to this forum. A special thanks to Terry and Jo for recommending it in another forum. What a friendly bunch of people!! Everyone seems so willing to share their knowledge and experience as well as being full of encouragement.
We have been planning to full timine for several years now and have RV'd for the past 17 years. This forum and web site is full of so much good information that we have been looking for that our heads are still swimming trying to take it all in. After reading all of this, I really feel we can begin our adventure when I turn 55 in December of 2012 or summer of 2013 at the latest.
We already have the rig we plan on going F.T. with. Bought a little earlier than originally planned to, but the price was right and it was exactly what we wanted. Yes, we have added a few things and will modify the trailer suspension with MoreRyde and add "Level Up" now it is a fully automatic program. We can do this while we are still working full time and pay for them up front. The truck also came a little early, but when Ford was offering 72 Mo. interest free, and I only use it for towing, could not go wrong. If you can use someone else's money for six years for free, why not. It will be fully paid off before we retire and just be barely broken in.
Thanks again for the welcome and all the information we have already found! Can't wait to meet some of you on the road.

Welcome Rick and Janice. Sounds like you guys are well on your way! We're hoping to head out fulltime next year. Will still need to work, but anxious to get on with it!
