Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.


We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

What are some good companies for F/Ter's insurance? My agent would have to put us on Foremost for the coach and Allied for the truck and Harley.

Is there any company that may insure all together??

We have National Interstate. After having it only 5 weeks we made a claim. Hubby tangled with a diesel pump barrier and lost. Separated back wall from side about a foot. They have been great. Accident happned late May. We got the check last week.

(Wish our dealer doing repairs was as good, took them four weeks to just order the parts).

Another shop sealed us up to live in it until goes to shop for repairs. our insurance provides up to $1,500 for motel fees for when rig is in shop.

We also have National Interstate and they have proven to quite a heads up company.

We have had 5 claims with them in 4 years and the service has been wonderful and they haven't raised our rates. smile.gif We have both the RV and truck insured with them.

New here, so response is a little belated...

We also have National Interstate on the 5th wheel. Tangled with a low hanging live oak branch last spring... Ended up with a new roof and new awning. They were great!

Good to hear others are having good experiences with them as well!

I'm researching this now as well. Allstate says it will cover truck & 5th for structual damage but not personal stuff. Since I plan of F/T living who can you get to cover your personal items? Need something like a personal property ins carrier like I have for home...

Pamela, That's why you need to go with an insurance company that has full-timers insurance.

Allstate cancelled my truck insurance when they found out we were full-timing.

Good to know Jim. I will check again with my agent - I did tell him I would be full time.

Don't rely on just one source, even if they do specialize.  When we were checking a while back, Miller's rates were higher than one other.  The other "may" have been National Interstate.  I suggest checking for yourself instead of relying on a broker.

We were contacted by Miller and their quote was higher than National Interstates directly.

BTW, they are GREAT! We have had a number of claims (all handled easily and quickly), and our rates have not gone up in 5 years.
