Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

We will be moving from Indy to Idaho around May/June. We have a 32'Lexington class B+ (V10-E460) and are towing a 2011 Subaru Outback.Any suggestions as to the best route and campgrounds? We will probably take 4 to 5 days. Thanks for any help.
Howard I know you and Linda like to stay at state parks and was wondering how you mangage vehicle entry fees. When Max and I research most state parks there is usually a fee of around 6 to 7 dollars a night for each vehicle. With the motorcycle and the truck we have paid as much as 12 dollar a night on top of the...
Are you blogging? Do you have a home page? I am looking for information on who you use or where you go to host your home page and blog. I am clueless on how this works but would like to get something set up. Oh and I would prefer a free service :) is that realistic? Thanks to all! Win the day Mike-- Edited by Team...
While this might be best in the "blogs threads", it is a subject that might be read more if it is in the Community Chat category. I find myself having difficulty with many blogs because if I want to post a comment to an individual's blog posting, I can't do it. While I enjoy reading what indivi...
I have an 05 Alfa See Ya and recently noticed some dark-colored water on both landing gear pads after some rain storms. The only thing I can think of is water is getting inside them somehow and draining down. I don't see any water inside the compartment. Has anyone else had this problem and know where I...
"Do you think we're too young to do this? I don't want to be an old man sitting in a chair under an awning." When we hit the road in 2 years or so, we'll be 59 and 57.5 (do not even think of rounding up ). His question is actually a very good one, because of the two of us, I am the one who can keep busy, r...
Our 5th wheeler has two #30 propane bottles, one on either side of the unit. I believe each will hold 7 gallons of LP and they are connected together with a bidirectional regulator. When we did our predelivery inspection walkthrough, our guide said that we should keep one bottle's main valve open and...
Hi! Just wanted to drop a quick line to let all of you wonderful folks how we are doing. So here we are, about 4 months into the fulltiming life. So far, so great! We have learned many (but certainly not all) of the little ideosynchrosies of our RV, which for me was the most challenging (and heart stopping!...
Hello!!We are up in southern Oregon, and with the frequent rain I've noticed condensation around the windows. This morning I found spots of mold. I cleaned with 409, dried, and since it is sunny and dryish today I've got all the windows open in a hopefully not vain attempt to dry things out a bit. Any ad...
We have settled in, both site-wise and work-wise, here at Lake Paradise Resort near Lone Jack, MO. Seems like we both keep busy! I have been unsuccessful in getting a consistent HughesNet signal so am having to use the park WiFi in the lodge. Park-wide WiFi is in the works, just not up yet. This is the...
I was wondering if anyone does this for each other? You know, once you meet folks that you can trust, and vice versa, and say you want to go out on a boat cruise or crawl through museumes or whatever, and you don't want to risk not getting back to them in time to let them outside. Seems like friends would help...

Posting our "Elite Suites For Sale" one last time. We just got back from a month long trip to Arizona and the RV is now cleaned and washed and needs to find a new home. So here goes... Any future fulltimer interested............... 2006 Doubletree Elite Suites 36TK3 w/3 Slides. We purchase...
I wanted to share a product that I've recently used & had great success with. It's called the Comfy Cone - it's an e-collar for dogs. Unfortunately my dog had a very serious eye infection & had to wear an ecollar. I had the hard plastic ecollar from the vet, but it totally freaked out my dog. S...
Took our 5er out for the maiden voyage this past weekend....temps got down to 30 degrees and we were cold. Since we bought used we don't have all of the manuals and the furnace instructions were glanced over in the walk through.....we turned on all switches that we knew...and the thermostat up to 80.....
Even though it will be 5 yrs before I retire and FT, just wanted to hear from FTers that have dogs. I dont even know if our dogs will be around in 5 yrs. But if I decide to get another dog I wanted to see if it's a lot of trouble, if parks have restrictions on size(I like bigger breeds best).
We recently purchased a 1997 Itasca Suncruiser, 37'. We're starting to make some trial run trips before we take off for good. Our issue is that the steering wanders. It's a full time job keeping it going straight down the road. We put on all new tires, had the front end aligned, and put on a Tru Track ba...
If you have/had a choice between a Tiffin Allergo 34' dp or a Newmar 35' dp price is no object, and layout is similar. Which for the soundness/construction/warranty would you pick? We are torn between the 2 manufactures? Please tell us which you would pick and why?
We are not on the road yet but I am trying out Howard and Linda 's 12.00 per day food budget. I would be interested in hearing how others meet there food budgets and of course sample menus that meet that budget. I have spent 122.00 on food for Feburary and it is only the 2nd of the month but since we are not ful...
A few months ago I posted regarding the problem we were having with the dealer from whom we bought our 2009 Montana. Following an accident where the back wall was separated from the side, we took it to them for repair. We were initially less than happy when it took them five weeks to place the order for...
We towed our 5th Wheel for the first time last weekend....and I have to say I'm excited that my 2002 F250 7.3 ltr. averaged a little over 20 mpg. pulling for 2 l/2 hours. From what I've heard and read...that's pretty good diesel mileage! And, we had 5 people traveling in the truck! My DH was a happy ca...
Just wanted to write a quick note to wish all of our friends and "family" in the RV-Dreams Community a very Merry Christmas. May all of your Christmas wishes come true. We are truely living our dream of living fulltime in our 5th wheel. We are fortunate enough to be able to travel whereve...
Does anyone else have a 2005 Mountaineer for a tow vehicle? It seems that the clamp-on mirrors don't fit over the factory mirrors very well. I bought a pair that worked well enough to get the trailer home (40 miles), but I'm not very happy with them, and I'd really like something better. The dealer was he...
Things are looking rough right now. We have had our Prowler camper for over two months now, and were working on it on a very slow pace. The reason being, was that we didn't outright own it yet. Story: We found the camper through a relative. He got us in touch with the "owner" and we made a pr...
