Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I did a search, but couldn't find if this topic has been discussed. We're wondering if anyone has purchased the electrical plug that has a plug for the 30 amp and 20 amp outlets and then is supposed to give you 50 amps of power. Basically, it is supposed to combine the power from the two different outl...
DW and I were discussing the possibility of fishing from good quality inflatable canoes. Would that be possible considering the sharp hooks and sharp edges on poles, or would that just be a bad idea altogether, If not, would you have any idea how to transport a standard canoe when towing a 5th wheel tra...
It seems like there was a time when you did an expose'(I know that's not the proper puntuation) on credit reports but can't find it. Probably many years ago !! I do know that not all "free" credit reports are really free so don't want to open myself to something I don't want. What's the best &qu...
I watched the Tuscon, AZ Memorial Service tonight and the President named each of the slain from last Saturday's tragedy.....two of them he talked about liked to RV and he talked about how they went on trips in their motorhome. How sad. It was nice to finally hear about the fallen and their lives.
In a rather shocking move, Verizon has announced that effective 1/16/2011, their return policy will only include a 14-day trial instead of the standard 30 days. This means that new customers will only have 14 days during which they can cancel their new service and return their equipment without inc...
And I am in East Texas right now I travel mostly solo with my pets two dogs and a cat. I have been in all the western states and most of the southern states in my RV. I, of course, love to travel, see new places and meet new people. I belong to LOWS and Escapees and attend their meetings when I can. I have at this t...
My wife and I are first time buyers and are soon to be full-timer's. We are looking at 3 class A diesel pushers: a 2005 Itasca Horizon 36RDH vs a 2005 Tiffin 40QDH vs a 2006 Itasca Meridan 36G. Any advice from the experts would be appreciated.

It is so fast with the the connections .. much faster than my land line... For anyone who is interested the download i...
Come April, we pick up our new RV in IN--then drive to the Rally in SC---45ft long, no real exp, and thats our first road trip . A little nervous, but mostly excited. Any pointers from the experianced road warriors in the community? To be clear, i have put many miles on a TT---17ft pulled by a Dodge Durango...
I have seen many recent posts about the 2010 Florida RV SuperShow in Tampa, so I thought I'd post some details and let everyone know that Linda & I plan to attend. We will be there on Thursday, January 14 (originally it was Wed, Jan 13th). We'll be driving in rather than staying. But if anyone wants...
well, what to do now? I am totally bummed out because today I received word from my insurance guy that due to my pre-existing condition of having some minor skin cancers removed I am NOT going to be able to buy a health insurance policy in the individual market. I have health insurance now thru my emplo...
Check out the Krawler Hauler aka a 26 foot International used U-Haul box truck! He bought it from www.uhaul.com/trucksales Find uhaul on Facebook and add them as a friend. There's some really neat conversions.
...Watching the World go by. Being on the short side of 50, it seems that time is racing by me in a marathon. I can't grab it by the collar to stop it, so all I can do is to make the most of it while I have it.http://spendingmytyme.blogspot.com/
Hi folks I have a Verizon Droid-X phone and would like to get a tablet style computer that would work with my phone. I use PDAnet to connect to the internet with my laptop and would like to be able to use the tablet the same way. I love the Ipad and have checked into the verizon version but do not want to pay mon...
We are Rick and Phyllis and we live in the currently frozen state of Michigan. We have a fridge magnet of a 1950's sort of blonde which quotes her as saying "Frugal is such an ugly word." Well so is "Lurker", so...SuperLurker no more. We are, as I said in my Bio, relative light...
Our 09 Dodge Ram Magnum 1500 is pretty light weight by most standards in RV land. I'm thinking about investing in some Air Bag rear spring assists to level the truck front to back when we have trailer weight on it. I don't like the idea of our headlights being elevated by the trailer tongue weight after...
Hey Everyone! Just another quick little intro. We're trying to join most of the top RV forums where the rest of you go to get the information that you need from the RV peeps that you trust the most. We'll be responding to posts about rv parks, fulltiming, etc.; when we have something useful to add. But I'd...
We are getting ready to move soon and after staying in one park for two months I feel a little down. Have met many really nice people(and a few not as nice) and feel like I will miss them. I never thought much about the neighbors when we left the s&b but this seems different. I am excited to move dow...
While in the process of cleaning out our "stuff" to get us closer to full timing we hit a roadblock when we looked at the multiple boxes of tax-related records. I believe it's recommended to keep anything that you might need for an IRS audit for 7 years but we really don't want to have anythin...
My lease is up in eight months. I'll buy a motorhome then and become a full-timer. This seems to be a neat site full of great info and good people--thought I'd hang out a while and maybe learn a thing or two. I am really looking forward to my first road trip...where I intend to take my alarm clock out to...
We are looking for both a used 5th wheel and a used Ford F350 diesel dually. (Yes, we're doing this a bit backwards - going to get the truck first and then look for a 5Ver that will be compatible.) Plan to start full-timing in April. We have children/grandchildren both in New England and in the mounta...
Our situation at Lake Paradise turned out to be "not as advertised," regarding the pay and condition of the property. We gave our resignation on Monday and departed this morning. We were not the first to resign and, unless things change drastically quite soon, we will not be the last....
We have been reading Howard's Journal for a few weeks now and are finding it - and the information in the forum - very helpful. 2 years ago we seriously talked about becoming full-timers (years ago we'd boondocked in an RV for 3 months and enjoyed it). This summer we took the whole month of August and dro...
