Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Best route from Indianapolis to Boise, Idaho

We will be moving from Indy to Idaho around May/June. We have a 32'
Lexington class B+ (V10-E460)  and are towing a 2011 Subaru Outback.
Any suggestions as to the best route and campgrounds? We will probably take 4 to 5 days. Thanks for any help.

Just get on the interstate and head west. When you get to Salt Lake tun northwest. there are no mountains to cross altho you'll have some ups and downs in WY.  Wind around Cheyenne can be a real issue. Check on it.

It's an 1800 mile trip. Narrow your campground question down to planned stops and you can get better suggestions.  There is some great stuff to see along that route. If you have more time to do so, you won't be disappointed.

Thanks Rick. I assume you are referring to I70 out of Indy.

No, I would suggest getting on I-65 toward Chicago and then connecting to I-80. You might want to do I-65 on the weekend to avoid rush hour traffic south of Chicago.
I-80 will take you all the way to the I-84 spur NE of Salt Lake and that will take you to Boise.  Lotsa very nice places to stop along that I-80 route if you have the time.

If you just Google map it, it suggests going west to KC. I sure wouldn't recommend going north to Chicago, the traffic going past there on 80 is a horror story any time or day of the week. I've done it many times and would avoid it if there was any other way for me to get to Milwaukee.

Thanks Guys !
I think I'll try I74 out of Indy and pick up I80 North of Peoria, Il.
