Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Once I bought the 2002, 40ft Revolution, "Whoopee Wagon" as Bunk calls it, found out it would not fit down my driveway.... Rented a spot up the road a bit. I have tented since childhood (long long time) and this is my first foray into RVing. Dreamed about it for a long time. Since I can't get it...
We went to the local tire store chain yesterday to have them put air in our tires. Our tires have max pressure of 80 psi. We assumed this meant we had to make sure they had 80 psi in them. But, the "tire guy" said it's better to keep them at 70 psi. I thought that under inflated tires caused the...
My wife and I decided a few months ago to go toward full-time status. I teach online for a few colleges so I can still bring in a decent income, we are basically debt-free and she is ready to retire. We planned on going out in 2012. There are 4 other homes for sale on our street but we live near a small universi...
Hi everyone. We are new to the forum. We signed up for RV-Dreams rally and can't wait. My name is Bonnie and my husband is Richard (RB - is our business name RB Canvas Outfitters). We plan on going FT 2012 or " as soon as our house sells" like alot of other people. We have been RVing for 20+ y...
It finally all came together. We closed the house a week ago today! Finally we are rolling. It has been a learning curve but all is good. We are learning to just relax and let the stress go. We are in Canada now don't know how long we will stay. That is the beauty of this life. We don't have to have a ret...
Another question for anyone with a class C up to 26 ft: I'm running into a lot of un-level places as I travel, even really neat parks or campgrounds with slabs are somehow hard to get level in, so I'm considering having leveling jacks (I think they're hydraulic but not sure about that) put on my Class C 26'...
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE, Looking for some reviews on Rv Parks/Campgrounds in Florida City/Homestead FL for 4 nights. We will be visiting Everglades and Biscayne National Parks and want to be centrally located between the 2. I've found 1 city park and 2 Camp Club USA discounted parks in the area but w...

If you buy a used (Gas) Class A that is 3 years old and has already depreciated from new, does it hold its value if traded in after a year or two? I'm thinking to start with a smaller rig (29') and keep the house for awhile. Then if we really want to full time trade up to a bigger Diesel. I'm thinking we would p...
Has anyone heard of a RV cover with an opening for the rooftop air conditioner. Plan on letting the RV sit in the driveway for a couple of months while the wife takes a sign language course. I've just put in a 30 AMP outlet on the side of the house, then took the RV to the dealer for some warranty work and some d...
My wife, Evin, and I are back in the RV selection process. Last time we toured six factories where 5th wheels are made. After two years of research and the tours we bought a DRV Mobile Suites 38RESB4 and a Ford F-450. We ended up very happy with both; but, because of family health issues we had to come off...
So we really did wake up one day the other week and say "Let's RV full time". We have never owned an RV and yes we know we are nuts (we get told this a lot!). I grew up in a pop-up and 42' fly bridge boat (RVing feels so similar to boats to me as far as living only the outside living space is much bette...
Hi All, We've been busy the past few days. We sold our little red sports car and our two waverunners. You just can't take all of the toys with ya. The biggest step was taken today when the real estate sign was planted in the front yard! Let's hope that it doesn't stay there too long. We'll be ready to hi t...
We have had very good luck over the past three years by paying attendtion to the servicing of our holding tanks. Q. I usually dump my black tank, even if their is very little in the tank. I know most say fill it up- dump-clean and be happy. It could take a week or more some times to fill our black tank...your t...
Hi everyone! I just found this site and was hoping to learn all I could from all of you willing to share :) I am 32 years old, married with a 20 month old son. As crazy as it sounds we are really thinking of renting our home out and going on the road full time with our 20 month old son. Now, the crazy thing is - w...
Greets All from the middle of Alabama. My wife and I are about three months from the "plunge" We are looking at fivers as a way of life. I hope we can become good netizens here (and other forums). Anyhoot, just a short hello.
WHAT WOULD YOUR CHOICE BE IN BUYING A USED CLASS A RV GAS OR DIESEL AND WHY? FROM WHAT I'VE READ A DIESEL LASTS LONGER, HAS A TAD MORE POWER, IS LESS NOISY IN THE CAB SECTION WHEN TRAVELLING. - HOWEVER ARE MORE EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR AND DIESEL REPAIR IS NOT ALWAYS AROUND THE NEXT CORNER.
Finally after 4 years!! My husband and I signed today for our first fifth wheel and boy to I have many questions. My husband oversees the construction of hospitals and I his secretary. We move any where from 6 months to 18 months. The company we work for have always taken such incredible care of our mov...
As many of you know, Jo and I have now moved into our Mobile Suites with the sale of the house. We had scheduled to have Direct TV to come and hook us back up to satellite TV. When they arrived, the installer said that their dish would not fit on the tripod that we had purchased. (It being less than 2 inches...
So today I cancelled our HughesNet service. Almost a year out and lesson learned. We are at a job we have been told will be at least a year, maybe even two, and our WiFi is provided as a perk. So we don't need the HughesNet. Additionally, although it worked great while it was working, the last several...
What do you do when your better half is fighting a migraine? Sometimes Cindy suffers for hours. We end up sleeping in different rooms so I don't rock the bed. This is not an option in the rv. In a smaller space it will be harder to be quite and stop the rv from rocking. James
We are selling our 2009 Mobile Suites Fifthwheel - 38RLSB3 and 2008 Ford Super Duty F450. Purchased with hopes of going full time but sometimes plans change. We are the first and original owners of both. Great floorplan on this top quality DRV brand fifthwheel with the ability to create a separate '...
At the risk of starting another brand war <grin> is there any major problem with either company's engines? I'm currently looking into DP rigs, and have seen both brands used. Since I know nothing about such, I thought I'd better ask. I know that there have been some issues with Ford's 6.0 diesel...
Wherever you may be, in an RV or a stix-n-brix, I wish you a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend! It's amazing that we will be coming up on our first anniversary of full-timing in our 5er in about a month. I sometimes wonder if we would have pursued this lifestyle without this Web site and all you wonderfu...
I'm sorry to ask,but having sold the house and always having had cable. I've no point of reference on Sat systems. I understand the choice between Direct and Dish is like the Ford and Dodge or Chevy thing, but since I never have had or will have residential Sat service, I saw the Dish program offered by Ca...
I'm looking at toy haulers and found www.forksrv.com. Please, has anybody had any experience with them? I can hardly wait to get our first TH and unless I can find one that offers the second separate bedroom/bath I'm going with Heartland Cyclone 3950. I would welcome all comments. Thank you very much...
"Hi" My name is Jerry and my wife's name is Kim. We are in the early stages of learning what it takes to go full time. We cleared our schedule to attend the fall 2011 Rally in PA. We are super eager to learn what we need to do to get this ball rolling. We will need to still continue to work but from wha...
