Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I am looking for a lightweight Gun Storage Cabinet for long guns under the bed in my 5th wheel, and really have not come across one that I liked. Has any one done this? What did you use? Kevin
This weekend has been one of near disasters. The first I wrote was about how nice it is that when one loses water in the park, one still has a fresh water tank to use in the interim until a repair is completed. This forum post is specific to Twin Fountains RV Park in Oklahoma City, OK. That facility is righ...
I've noticed that pressure cookers are making a come-back on the cooking scene. As my husband and I form a picture of what full-timing in an RV would look like for us, we've started to think in terms of living in a limited space and managing our energy usage (especially for boondocking and dry campi...
We have HWH jacks on our 2011 Allegro. Our jacks were malfunctioning on our last trip. Apparently there is a code to reset the jacks and our service center is trying to get in touch with HWH and find what it is. anyone out there have any suggestions?
Thanks
My husband and I are going start full-timing soon. We are looking at an Alfa See Ya Gold 5th Wheel. We'd love to hear from anyone who owns this brand. Good? Bad? Thanks so much!
It's time to change out the original equipment batteries in our '08 Select Suites. I was planning to dismount the 2 6 volt and take them with me to insure a proper size/fit and avoid a core charge.
My question is: can I simply disconnect the batteries with the unit on shore power and leave the unit batter...
Let me start by saying, it is not an easy drive to Boone. There are no interstates to get you there! But it was worth all the curvy mountain roads! I posted several post all about it here. www.campinandscrappin.blogspot.com We stayed at the Honey Bear Campground and it was beautiful!
I know you should have brakes on the dolly for that extra saftey. That being said it looks like we are going another year with MH. We are going to dolly our 2006 VW rabbit tired of no real toad. Found a heavy duty dolly at a good price, but does not have electric breaks on it. Its been suggested that with the wi...
Hey All! I have had a dream for the last 10 years of full-timing when my husband and I retire. Lately it has become an all encompassing nag. So I joined the forum to connect with others that have same interests in hopes of scratching that itch, so to speak. My husband is a freight train conductor and it...
Although we plan to research campgrounds when we start full-timing, I am interested to understand what is typical. How common are campgrounds that closely resemble an asphalt parking lot with little room to extend slides? How common are more expansive campgrounds/campsites with more tranquil a...
So what's the best way to carry a couple of bikes on the back of the new New Horizons. I searched and found lots of discussion on trailer hitch mounts but we didn't order a hitch on the Majestic so that's out. We're taking our Mazda 6 as our daily driver to start but it doesn't have a hitch on it either so the hi...
:) Hi, I am working on becoming a full-timer within the next six months. I plan to get a 5th wheel with a few added things to make life easier. I just took a 5300 mi journey West to South and back and can't tell you how much I wanted to have my 5th wheel. Anyway just wanted to say "Hi" and let you know I...
Vacuum laminated walls... Ok, so I hear the term and it sounds good, but what is it and is it really a good thing or bad? How well does this process hold up over time? What if you have a leak? Are repairs costly, etc...Help me understand this. Thanks
Hi all, do any of you workcampers (or you already lucky fulltimers) have any advice for me? I posted something on here a couple of weeks ago about the possibility of a job but didn't get that much of a responce. I have an interview Tuesday next at a small campground near my home in Virginia and I'm so ex...

Honey Bear CampgroundBoone, North Carolina I can't say that we will ever go back to this sweet campground for one very simple reason; the sites are laid out backwards. It looks as if the campground roads were paved at one time and over the years have just been replaced with gravel. The direction th...
We are doing a workamping gig in Pa. this summer and we are planning on visiting the Asheville, NC area on our return to Florida for the winter, and the question we need answered is this.We plan on taking I-81 south to I-26 into Asheville or would it be better to take I to I-40 and than to Asheville. We know...

Hi Everyone,
The name's Kris. Born in Poland, I moved around to England to France and then, 20 odd years later, back to Poland. I have spent most of my 38 years doing music and that is what I still do. The idea of living on the road full time has been growing in me for a while now. Living in Europe I have been l...
Hello - We are "sitting" in the South Ft Worth area for a while. We were wondering if anyone knows of a small park in the South Ft Worth area (Kennedale, South Arlington, Mansfield, Burleson). We need dog friendly and a tree :) Thanks!! Ben and Mary
Well, not a real disaster, depending on one's needs, but at least it is a welcome advantage. The mobile home park where we are located is having issues with the plumbing for the last four sites on our row. (I think the high pressure we have here has really affected it.) When the folks came out to fix the p...
hello, we think we found a great deal on a motorhome but we'd like to replace the refrigerator and stove. where can we buy these parts and is this something we can do ourselves or should we have an rv specialist do? i would think their labor is a premium. please advise. thank you!

We are living full time in a CG as we prepare to hit the road next year. We are using Comcast broadband at present and it is FAST. When I turn on my iPad and touch the web icon, my page is there in 2 seconds or less.
We're looking at a Millenicom hot spot as our Internet source since we plan to hit the pow wow trai...
Purchased in Nov 2011 from Camping World. Used 4 times. Works great, we just have not used it like we thought and want the space back. Weighs 148 lbs, 23.4" wide, 33.75" height, 22" deep. Asking $850. We are currently in the San Antonio area and will be at the RV-Dreams Rally in Kerrvill...
My fresh tank has a habit of developing that sulphur smell, and as a newbie, I used the generally advised chlorine bleach... OMG even though I flushed it and flushed it and flushed it, then I had to live with a bleach smell, and it was affecting my skin and hair in the shower! Not healthy! I discovered th...
We were sitting outside tonight and could hear a "click" every few minutes. We have tracked it down to the transfer switch. It is a Lyght transfer switch and not sure of the model. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Hi there. This is my first post on this forum, but I have been lurking on this and other forums for months. Wish I was with those at the Rally in Kerrville, and I hope you are all well and having a great time. My wife and I have always enjoyed camping, but have never used anything bigger than a tent trailer...
