Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Kudos to the RV Community, Specifically at Twin Fountains

This weekend has been one of near disasters.  The first I wrote was about how nice it is that when one loses water in the park, one still has a fresh water tank to use in the interim until a repair is completed.

This forum post is specific to Twin Fountains RV Park in Oklahoma City, OK.  That facility is right next door to the mobile home park where we are parked.  In fact, right across the fence.

They have been very neighborly in letting us take our walks in their park and sold us LPG on occasion.  I've even donated some hardback books to their library because they are so nice to us.  This weekend has seen them really shown their merit.

Jo had ordered a laptop computer and had been tracking its shipping progress.  Some time Friday, she saw that it was in Oklahoma City and in the hands of FedEx.  When we got home, not seeing a package here or a notice that they had attempted delivery, she got back online to see its shipping status again.

Lo and behold, it showed up as "Delivered" with a signature of "N. Hall" as the recipient.  Needless to say, she was REALLY concerned that her new laptop had been delivered elsewhere.  She got on the phone to FedEx and their customer service representative informed her that it had been delivered to a business.

So, with no word back this morning from FedEx, Jo went next door to the Twin Fountains RV Park to see if it might have been delivered there.  When she returned to the RV, she had that computer in her hot little hands.  (I guess that the FedEx driver thought that the mobile home park was actually a part of the RV park, so he dropped it there.)

Some of the folks that run Twin Fountains, and the workkampers, are used to seeing us, so I imagine that had Jo given them time, they would have sought us out.

With all the above said, I have to give an "Atta-boy" to the staff and management of Twin Fountains RV Park.  Unless someone staying there sees this and tells them about it, they are unlikely to know of the post I've done here.  The important thing to know is that there are honest folks at Twin Fountains, and I am confident in commending them to any and all RV'ers.

All of this is not surprising, since a lot of folks in the RV community are really great people.

Terry

Twin Fountains is a fine RV park. I have stayed there a time or 2 while in OKC. RVing folks are a little different and most of the time in a good way.

Sorry I missed you in OKC. I left there on the 28th of April. Hopefully our paths will cross again.

Not a problem, Alan.  I know you have family here, so I still have an opportunity to meet you.  Even if we never meet, I think we are still kindred spirits, having the love of seeing new places and meeting new folks.

God bless you in your travels.

We’ve been to Twin Fountains and yes, a very nice park to say the least.  Nice people.  Sorry we didn’t know you were next door or we would have stopped in on our way up from Arizona via OKC to Elkhart last fall.  Maybe the next trip up that way we can stop now we know where you live.

We would love it, Bill.  We've met a few of the other Suites owners when they've stopped at Twin Fountains.  If you go there again, just run west until you hit the fence across the "very poor" road.  Follow the road towards the north around a mobile home to find a gate near the storm shelter for the mobile home park.  At that point, you are about 100 feet west of our site.

If you know in advance you'll be coming, send us a private message and I'll get you our phone number.  Our last visitor wasn't sure they wanted to open the gate and come in because our two MinPins were barking at them like crazy.  Fortunately, we can tell the difference in their barks and went outside.

We stayed in Twin Fountains on our way back to NM after picking up our RV in Elkhart. Very nice park and very pleasant folks working there.
