Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hi there! My husband and I are both in our early 40's and working in corporate America. We have often talked about full-time RV'ing "some day" and while we were just looking to upgrade our small Class A Trek (we love spending several long weeks/couple of weeks a year in the CO area) the q...
I have decided to sell my motor home. It has 3 slides, queen bed, and washer/dryer. It has an air mattress in the couch for overnight guests. I've had no problems with the Cummins 330 motor or 7500 generator. It has 45,000 miles and tires are two years old. I can send photos or any details you would be int...

We just went to the "go through" of our new 5th wheel. The salesman wanted to sell us slide out slickers. They look like plastic skis that you put on the carpeting under the slide to reduce the wear and tear. They're $80 for a set. Does anyone use these?
We've started looking at Class A motorhomes with the idea that by early spring 2013 we'll have found the "right one". We've determined that a MH is probably best for us with a "toad" that will also be a vehicle we can use for art shows containing all our booth set up "junk&q...

Financial freedom- that's what we're dreaming about! A friend just gave me this website address and I've been reading like crazy. I'm Becky, age 52 and watching my husband (Tim) work so many hours each day--- at 60 he's got a ways to go to retire, but then, that gives me a few years to do some research and...
Hi we are new to your forum. We met several years ago while working on a job contract each pulling our own campers. Since I travel with a 6# little friend and a 124# protection trained gentle giant we soon realized our two small campers weren't going to do it. After we were married we saved and bought a 34' u...
Got our new 3500HD ready to tow. Finished installing our Hitch and getting trailer Plug installed in the bed this weekend. Help! I've been trying to find the right area to sign up for " Bidding " for the Corps Parks but have so far been unable to. Found out something about filing a lot of papers with the Gov. @Dunn's. But don't know anything beyond that. Who is Dunn's, etc. I've already learned about the Volut...
I know cell coverage has been discussed previously, but bear with me. We are considering changing cell and Internet providers. We have only had Sprint. Have had them for years! We usually are ok but there have been places where the coverage is poor or does not exist. We also have Sprint Mobi...
So, we took our brand new 5th wheel out for the weekend to a camp ground. Before we left, I was packing stuff into it and had a laundry basket on the counter. I slid the basket off the counter and it scratched! THEN, when we got to our destination, I noticed the counter next to the sink was all scratched up...
On July 4th we were at Chula Vista RV Resort on the San Diego Bay in California. This year the City of San Diego had arranged with a Fireworks company to setup firework displays at 4 locations around the bay. The show would be synchronized by computer with music played by a local FM radio station. It wa...

As many may have noticed we have an Aistream, which we thought we would just use for Airstream rallies. But, as life goes, some things happen. In November we sold our 2001 with 4 firm offers in less than a week. Our dream is to refurbish the 1974 in retirement, well we found a wonderful
Guy locally and had...
I have just started looking into full timing to plan for the future (hopefully sooner than later). Seeing the prices for a loaded 5th wheel that would be suitable for full time living and being a "jack of all trades" (welder/metalworker, woodworker, mechanic, etc) I want to see if having a...

I think the most contributed-to topic/debate on this forum is the question of 3/4 ton vs one ton DRW. On one of the threads, someone, I forget who, said something like...I wouldn't pull anything longer than a 34 foot FW with a 3/4 ton. My question, for all who have opined on this subject, is this; Wha...

I'm sitting in our new trailer with the sun streaming in the picture window, the light glistening off the water and I can't believe this will soon be my life! The thought of traveling when we want to where we want is so exciting. Even the the little things like coffee in the morning under the awning and...
I have been looking at trucks and specs on the trucks. I am curious as to the rear end. I see people saying what particular rearend they have in their trucks and my question is are those standard rearends or were they switched out for towing? Researched the 6.0 f350 motor and I really didn't read very man...
Hello What are, our options for filling the fresh water and dumping black water tanks, when on the road? Other than camp grounds of course. The renovations are almost complete on the 1999 fleetwood travel trailer. We take a shake down cruse in about two weeks.
We made the drive to Oregon Thursday night to pick up our new DRV Tradition. Everything went very well. Thumper made his first trip pulling a 5W home today. It's a 5 hour drive. He did really well backing it into our driveway parking strip. I was quite impressed. All in all, I think it went well. We sl...
