Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Well I finally got around to installing my progressive EMS this weekend. Fairly easy job total time just over an hour to install the HW50C. However the remote reader was another issue altogether.
Where the EMS took an hour to install, getting the remote display to its proper place took the rest of the day, what a pain. Crawling under the MH and trying to reach up to attach the cable to existing wire looms was an experience unto its own.
The data cable supplied was not long enough for the location I wanted to place the reader. I called progressive and they are sending additional cable at no cost. I thought that was a really nice move on their part.
I'm getting to old for crawling around on my back, but I enjoy this stuff and would do it again.......I think.
With the upcoming modification of replacing our RV refrigerator with a residential one, we are also planning on getting a Progressive Industries system. Perhaps even the same one you got.
In our case, I'm glad to hear that it doesn't take much to install, other than the remote. However, since we are in a fifth wheel, we may have less issues than you did.
Good to hear you are better protected.
Terry

Isn't it amazing that the BRAIN says, "Just crawl under there and push that wire up, than crawl out, stand up, and go inside." Now after the first time it isn't to bad, but after the 2nd time you hear THE BODY say " You want me to crawl under there AGAIN!"
Sorry about that, but it just depends on the rig as we know – the read-out wire pulling thing.
In our rig it took all of literally 2 minutes to get from the EMS to inside the rig. Then another 5 to snake the wire (it looks just like a telephone cable) up the chase to the read-out mounting point. But boy, regardless, has than little devise saved our rig more times then I want to count.
