Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Looking for some route info - what can we expect? Where the difficult grades are. Other nice stops along the way We are in a 40' MH pulling a H.onda Accord with a Cummins 300 6 spd Ally. Any help from those who have gone before us would be wonderful.

We have our Dishnetwork satellite dish mounted on a tri-pod and I am wondering if anyone has ever "grounded" their dish or how you have gone about prevention for lightning strikes? Anyone have any experience with Lightning arrestors for grounding the RG6 cables? Our neighbor recently h...
Hi everyone! Great forum going here. We came across this site through our NuRver friends at Technomadia. Currently we're starting the process of restoring our 1988 Lazy Daze class c motorhome and are probably getting WAY in over our heads. We've been traveling full time since 2009 and have no p...

There were some delays with the FCC but we just got the notice that everything is good to go and they'll be shipping from our warehouse on Thursday (maybe Wednesd...
I have a 1973 Wolverine truck camper that I wanted to put on my 2003 Chevy dually but the truck won't fit between the jack leg stands holding the camper. I've tried calling the local RV dealer but the guy in the parts department doesn't know what I'm talking about. He keeps trying to sell me the brackets...
A couple of days ago THE WIFE and I toured the EVERGREEN factory In Middlebury, Indiana.Very impressive. The TT’s are NOT mass produced, yes there is a production line but not what one envisions, they are hand built, by people and not robots. The “line” was about 6 iGos in various stages of completio...
Does anyone use a Scan Gauge D in their motorhome? Just curious if they're worth the money. -- Edited by Trabuco on Friday 22nd of June 2012 05:10:28 PM-- Edited by Trabuco on Friday 22nd of June 2012 05:12:18 PM
We've recently moved to a campground in Minnesota. The iron in the well water is overwwhelming! We bought an extra water filter for our hose between the faucet and the RV. The color of the water is much better but the iron smell is still really strong. We just purchased a Flow-Pur water softener and...

We decided to join the full-time RV Living world about a year ago. We just bought our 82 Chevy Van - CampMate in May and have been renovating it slowly in preparation for the road. Luckily my fiance's Dad is a master contractor and is helping us finish her up b.c. we got stuck! There is a lot to consider and o...
Many years ago I somehow got the book Movin’ On by Barb and Ron Hofmister. From that point I knew that someday I would live in an RV and travel. Fast forward a number of years, I was stuck in a stick and bricks house with a corporate job I hated, and I found the RV-Dreams site and daily journal. Again I knew tha...
We have a 2008 Mobile Suites. The black tank valve is so difficult to operate, that I can't open it at all even when I brace myself & use both hands. My husband can operate it but it's really tough, even for him. We've dumped gallons of vegetable oil into the black tank, usually 1 gallon at a time. ...

I'm really interested in Workamping at a few of our Nat'l Parks but after reading some of the information listed at Yellowstone I'm kind of worried that what they offer and what we'll have to pay out of pocket just seems unreasonable. I was under the immpression that the campsites for employee's were...
We're starting to get pumped now. We leave Friday to head out to Kansas to pick up our 39' New Horizons. Our stix and brix hasn't closed yet; but we have a finalized contract and passed the home inspection. The only thing left is the home inspection repairs which will be 5000 or so and the appraisal but bas...
Well, the house & everything in it is up for sale. Our first trip will be up through FL to SC for a visit, then on to NC for a visit, & then a stopover outside of Washington DC for a week or so before moving on to PA. Will also include Luray caverns west of DC also. The questions is, what would be the l...
When we started our full-timing adventure 4 ½ years ago, we said that when one of us couldn’t drive then it would be time to come off the road.Sadly, that time has come and we now find ourselves closing the door to this wonderful chapter in our lives earlier than we imagined. Our 2008 Excel 36BDE Lim...
My husband and I are looking for a camper to live in while we build our house. Whether or not we live in the camper for a year or five years is and probably will be up in the air. So, we have looked and looked for a camper in our budget (small) and have decided on features that we need/can't live without and ha...

We test drove a 38' Monaco Dynasty Sunday. It was a well maintained unit but, there was that floating feeling. Is this normal with the air ride suspencion or would you think the shocks need replacing. The unit is very clean and maintained with all records available. Thanks, Wayne
When did large sized pizzas begin being downsized to medium sized pizzas ? I remember large pizzas taking up a lot more room in the seat of my pickup truck in the past. Recently we picked up large pizzas from Dominos and then last night I went to Pizza Hut. The large pizzas were the size of what I remember m...
We've been "lurking" here...learning from you RV "experts" ever since getting our motorhome last year. It's a 2000 National Tradewinds...don't plan to ever live in it permanently, but are enjoying a week or two at a time in coastal parks mostly. Our problem: the sliding d...

I am open to comments and suggestions anyone may have for us regarding workamping in this area. Our kids are wanting to spend Thanksgiving or Chri...
So happy to find this forum again. I used to read it regularily and then changed computers and lost it for about 7 months. We are hopefully about 11 months away from the full time RVing. Have not purchased a 5er yet but have narrowed it down to a few that we feel are a little better quality for the money...
Hi! I am a total newbie. We just bought our first RV. Right now, it is in a storage and we do not enjoy it. Within a year we plan to go fulltime but in the meantime we still need to work. We have found a nice resort up north where it is cooler (we are in Phoenix!!) and we plan to rent by the month, leave our RV and go...
